What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for neighbors, friends, and family since I was a teenager. I've cared for a variety of cats with all different personalities and routines. I'm comfortable with feeding/water, litter box cleaning, brushing, administering medication when needed, and making sure each cat is well taken care of.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite memories I have cat sitting was with a Siamese office cat named Tassel. She was very overweight and didn't get much interaction so she was very timid and shy when I first met her. Whenever I visited her, I'd encourage her to be active, turning anything I could into a cat toy and giving her the undivided attention she was craving. Over time she became noticeably more active, lost weight, and would run to greet me every time I came in. Seeing a cat begin to trust you and look forward to seeing you is one of the most rewarding parts of cat sitting for sure.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Find someone who respects cats. They have boundaries, preferences, and personalities just like any other animal. I'd look for someone who's willing to learn what makes your cat comfortable instead of expecting them to fit into a certain mold.

This is the first time I’ve had to use a sitter and wasn’t really sure what to expect. Makenna was awesome, she set up a meet a greet where we easily figured out all the details and went over his routine. I came home to a clean house and well fed kitty. 100% recommend her. She even brought me tomatoes from her garden, so sweet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Fort Worth cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
