My background includes a Bachelor's in Wildlife & Fisheries Science from Texas A&M... Hey there, I'm Diana! My two cats, Cheshire and Elektra, live with me in the Georgetown area, and I am regularly jetting around to see all kinds of furbabies all across North Austin.

My background includes a Bachelor's in Wildlife & Fisheries Science from Texas A&M. I also have previous experience not only volunteering at an animal shelter, but I have worked for multiple pet stores.
I have previous experience with feline meds administration with both clients and personal cats, including oral syringe, subcutaneous fluids, injections*, pills, eyedrops, and ointments.
*For more complicated medical cases, such as insulin shots, I recommend limiting the cat's ability to hide under beds or unreachable places, and oftentimes have pawrents keep them confined to a small room where having to find, catch, and handle them won't turn into an issue.
When my beloved Cheshire cat was going through hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver syndrome), I diligently kept him both syringe-fed and hydrated via subcutaneous IV so well that even my vet was astonished at how well he recovered without surgery!
My personal schedule isn't constrained by a typical 9-5 job, so I can accommodate your needs more easily, plus I have a car that I enjoy driving around.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I absolutely love it when I have cats open up to me after being unsure of strangers at first. Not to say it happens all the time, of course, but some of my favorite repeat clients are those who started out being cagey and/or shy and eventually wound up becoming putty in my hands. It really reaffirms my bond with animals for me, and I think it makes the kitty owners happy that their kitty can be social with more than just them!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have two cats who own Me. 😼 Their names are Cheshire and Elektra. Cheshire is a chonky grey tabby boy, and Elektra is a black Bombay girl. I would go to the ends of the Earth for them, and they are the best thing I got out of my divorce. They have saved my life numerous times. They both are ESAs for me that provide both mental and physical healing and support.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
You should find someone who wants to communicate and ask you all kinds of questions, especially preventative safety ones. And if you're doing meet and greets, in person is far better than on video/zoom. That way, both the sitter can be better oriented to the layout of the place and you can make sure the cats vibe well with the sitter. Good cat sitter vibes can go a long way to ease the stress levels of your kitties while you are away from them.
What is your favorite cat toy?
So, it's not actually a toy, but an undercoat brush that is my favorite item I like to bring along to visits. I've had multiple cats that don't normally like brushing, but this one makes them purr and ask for more. 🐈⬛ Also, it works so well at getting undercoat fur out easily that I've had multiple clients ask me for a link to buy one, lol.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I offer them loving care and compassion because every kitty has different life experiences that may have given them trauma that we, as humans, might be unaware of. Cats have and need boundaries just like people do! I will still try to gauge their interest at each visit, whether with treats, toys, or food, and determine each time how they are doing on a case-by-case basis, as well as inform the owner during my updates of any behavioral changes or abnormalities.

Diana is amazing and a cat whisperer! She's watched our babies several times now and always takes her time and gives the best care to our shy boy, Belmont, and our elderly lady, Ava. Ava requires twice daily insulin injections and occasional subcutaneous fluids administered. Diana is always on time and performs these tasks with ease. Belmont usually hides from everyone, but he and Diana are now besties. She really has a way of making the shyest cats comfortable. She even feeds our fish, checks on our lizard, and brought in a package from our doorstep. She truly goes above and beyond! I highly recommend her!

Diana made our experience the best! I was very hesitant about leaving our kitty alone. Diana was willing to come each day for 2-45 minute visits. She was amazing!! She kept us posted about each visit. Our fur baby was not only fed, but Diana cleaned her litter box each visit and took time to play and talk to our kitty!! Moët loved her and didn’t feel neglected! This gave us a tremendous peace of mind. If I ever need a sitter again, I will call on her without hesitation!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Georgetown cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Diana was a fabulous caretaker for our two senior cats and three chickens! She gave very thorough daily updates with photos that gave us great peace of mind while we were on vacation, and shared additional FYI updates about the house (for example, a low battery alert on a fire alarm), so that there were no surprises when we returned. Our cats loved playing with Diana when she stopped by, and she went the extra mile by grooming them both as well!
