What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have over five years of experience in cat sitting, ranging from daily check-ins to short-term live-ins. I fostered cats for several years, often providing emergency care for cats found in need. My time at the cat cafe taught me to care for cats in distress during high pressure situations, and every cat I am responsible for has always received the medical attention they need.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I find cats that are initially hesitant to be very rewarding to care for. One little girl hid under the bed for the first booking, but was purring like a motor a few days later when she let me pet her. It takes time and patience to build trust with hesitant or scared cats, and it's wonderful when a scared cat warms up and accepts comfort. I can become fast friends with even shy kittens!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, I have two wonderful cats! One is named Soup, a tabby I adopted from the cat cafe. Initially, I took her home to recover from an illness and planned to return her to the cafe, but she became my “foster fail” as I couldn’t part with her. From the first night, her cuddly, playful nature stole my heart, and I knew she was my forever kitty. My second cat, Nyx, is very affectionate and loves to cuddle by my side, though she can be grumpy if woken up. Unless it's for food, then she comes running. I love them both with all my heart and they bring so much joy to my life!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always follow any specific security instructions provided by the homeowner, such as setting alarms or managing access codes. I maintain a safe environment by keeping harmful objects, toxic plants and foods out of reach. (Cats love playing with trash!) I am always closely monitoring their behavior and health, documenting and communicating any changes.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am! I am a perfect sitter if you need someone with holiday availability. I come from a family that is very laid back when it comes to holidays. I am happy to be a sitter during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Summer and Winter breaks. I always prioritize cats!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I start by giving the cat space and time to adjust to my presence, avoiding any sudden movements or loud noises that might startle them. Creating a calm environment is key, so I speak softly and move slowly. I let the cat come to me at their own pace, offering treats or toys as positive reinforcement to build trust. Understanding each cat's unique personality helps me tailor my approach to their comfort level. I also maintain their regular routines as much as possible to provide a sense of stability. If a cat remains particularly anxious, I use techniques like gentle petting or brushing, depending on their preference, and ensure they have a safe, quiet space to retreat to if they feel overwhelmed. Regular communication with the owner helps me stay informed about the cat’s specific needs and preferences!

Cecelia watched my two cats for 10 days over the winter holidays. One of my cats is very shy but, based on Cecelia's messages and the excellent photos she sent, seemed to come out of his shell around her. My other cat is outgoing but also had been having medical issues right before I left. I was nervous to leave him for 10 days but after chatting with Cecelia and discussing treatment plans if his symptoms returned, I felt confident she'd take good care of him and keep me in the loop. She did an excellent job and left my apartment spotless. Next time I'm going out of town I will definitely rebook with Cecelia.

Cecelia was so wonderful with our two old lady cats! We were gone for 2 weeks, so it was a long time to be away. I heard from her around the same time every morning with updates on their demeanor, medication, eating habits, any issues that arose, and (gorgeous!) photos. Cecelia did a great job with my typically timid Siamese ! My cat loves affection and attention but like many fur babies, she needed a moment to scope Cecelia out. Cecelia quickly understood how to best interact with my cat to gain her interest and affection without pushing her boundaries or frightening her, and they quickly became fast friends. By the end of the session, my baby would even greet her with a lovely Siamese meow! She was also very personable, and timely with her visits and made sure to scoop my cat's litter box with every stay. I know my sweet angel will look forward to her next visit when I am out of town. Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
