What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for about seven years, since I was 15 and in high school. It started with watching cats for neighbors and family friends while they traveled, and it grew from there as people recommended me to others. Over the years I've cared for cats with all kinds of personalities, from outgoing and playful to shy and cautious, which has taught me to be patient and let each cat set the pace. I'm comfortable handling feeding schedules, litter box care, fresh water, playtime, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages. At 22, I bring years of hands-on experience and a lot of love for cats to every visit.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most is earning a cat's trust. Cats have such distinct personalities: some greet you at the door, while others need a few visits before they'll come out from under the bed. I love learning each cat's quirks, like their favorite toy, the spot they like to be scratched, or how they prefer their food served, and adapting to what makes them comfortable. There's nothing better than the moment a shy cat finally curls up next to me. I also know how much peace of mind it gives owners to know their cat is safe, happy, and sticking to their routine while they're away, and I take that responsibility seriously.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I treat every home as if it were my own. Before the first visit, I go over the details with the owner, including feeding instructions, any health concerns, hiding spots, and their vet's contact information, so I'm prepared for anything. When I come and go, I make sure the cat isn't near the door so there's no chance of an escape, and I always double-check that doors and windows are locked before I leave. During each visit, I check that the cat is eating, drinking, and using the litter box normally, since changes in those habits can be an early sign of a problem. I also keep an eye out for anything unsafe, like open cabinets, loose cords, or toxic plants within reach. I send updates and photos after every visit so owners know their cat is doing well and their home is secure. If anything seems off, I contact

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
