What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I absolutely adore cats and have been cat sitting for a few years on and off. I love meeting new feline friends and taking care of them.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Knowing the cats are happy and safe in their own home, and that I'm providing their pet parents and them a wonderful service. Cats thrive the best in familiar settings! And I am here to accommodate them! Especially the shy ones who eventually get to know me and come out of their shell.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

This super cute thick boy who usually hide under the bed came to me while I was knitting and keeping him company to play with my yarn, revealing to me his playful personality!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two feline daughters named Baby Daffodil and Mama--no prior relation! Just unfortunate naming. I adopted Baby first! Mama was already used to her name when I got her.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would interview the sitter to make sure they are a good match for my kitties. As a pet parent myself, I want someone who can match my cats' needs. My girls are incredibly confident beings, and I know it's because I provide the right environment for them to thrive. For example, though they are incredibly confident and do not hide with strangers, they do not like loudness. I remind guests that they should use a lower voice when first coming into my house as to not frighten them (or else they will definitely try hiding). I make sure my cat sitters know every detail I expect of them e.g., how to feed them, what is expected of them, and also require the sitter to come by first.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Please contact me so we can arrange an interview and/or a meeting with your kitties so I know all the details on how to best cater to your loved ones!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I do not allow cats to go outside. Cats must be inside at all time. If your cat is sick and/or have fleas, I would need to be notified first.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am available during select holidays, based on availability, and I encourage early booking to ensure proper care coverage.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The wand toys are usually the best. No attachment needed. Cats are usually thrill to chase the end of the stick!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I do not believe in pushing cats outside their comfort zone. In order to not traumatize them, they must come out on their own. One must be patient, use a soft voice and get them comfortable being close to you. Sometimes, all that can be done in terms of giving them human interaction is by being beside them and talking to them as they do not allow pets. And that is fine too! With time, they will come to you for love.
