What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have sat for friends cats for about 20 years and have been pet sitting more professionally for about 3 years.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have a 3 year old named Scelestus (which is Latin for "criminal" and he lives up to it) and a tiny baby named Nix!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My first step is always asking their humans for advice - the people who know them best will have the most insight into what will help them feel safe. I approach cats with the understanding that while they're seen as predators, they also have prey instincts and it will scare them more to be approached when they don't want to be. I always make sure to at least see that the cat is doing well during a visit, but if they don't want to engage I'll typically sit still and let them slowly get used to my presence.

Everything went smoothly. I have a very shy cat and Jill knew exactly how to handle it and was able to make my cat feel comfortable enough to come out of hiding. She also had no problem taking care of my hamster too while she was there. I plan to use her again next time I need to leave town.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
