Because of them, I have plenty of experience in scooping the litter box, cleaning up hairballs, pouring dry food and opening cans of wet food, getting trapped with a cat on your lap, and distributing tre... I do not currently have any cats because I am a college student and housing has not allowed me the opportunity, but I am often seen with the strays on campus. I love cats of all personalities: absolute cuddlebugs, shy cats you only see in flashes, and even spitfires that hiss at strangers all have a place in my heart! I would be blessed to have the opportunity to watch over and hang out with your kitty, and I promise to treat them as if they were my own fur baby.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

For me, it’s a chance to take care of and hang out with cats when I don’t always have the opportunity to. It helps me fulfill that cat-loving part of myself when I am unable to have one of my own.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Walking into a new house, I always expect the cat to be making a break for it! Opening the door efficiently and blocking and easy exits with my leg until I am fully inside is a good way to make sure there are no escapes. Once inside, monitoring the cats behavior for anything out of the ordinary beyond adjusting to their change in routine. Before ending any visit, looking for any new hazards or anything unsecured is important. Exiting the house requires the same level of caution.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Giving anxious kitties space is the key in my experience! Letting them come to me and set the pace themselves is how you gain a shy cats trust.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
