I’ve spent 30 years in rescue as a board member, foster, trapper, bottle baby feeder. I do well with the shy hiding cats and have fun with the crazy playful ones. I’ve spent years socializing feral cats and kittens so I feel like I can make most cats feel safe and happy.

I’m comfortable with medicating most cats. Pills or ointments.

I know how hard it is to leave your cats while on vacation so I make sure I spend quality time giving them the care and attention while you are away.

Learn More About Susan

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for 30 years. I often cat and dog sit for former fosters. It’s a full time job for me and I truly love it.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I truly enjoy cat company. We listen to music and have conversations. I will play the entire time if you have a playful one.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I always love sitting for families who you can tell love their cats. It’s so nice to see so many well loved felines. I personally adopt older cats so it’s always fun for me to play with the younger active ones. I’ve sat for cats in tiny cottages with many cats to large homes with all the high tech monitored feeding, watering and litter boxes. It’s been very rewarding to sit for the same cat for years and become friends with the family.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have Freya, a little black former feral from Montana. I’ve always had rescued Persians but my last one passed in May.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I love all the notes you want to give. The more I can know their likes and dislikes the better.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I’m available most holidays to help your cats while you’re away. It can be such a tough time to find help.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I find almost all cats love string toys. I will make sure your young active cat will get their exercise.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always approach quietly and slowly. You can never rush a cat! 😉 I use the blinking technique so they will be less intimidated.

She treats our cats like family and I could not ask for anything else. She is extremely reliable and very communicative which really help me when I am away traveling. Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Salt Lake City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
