One adult cat helped me with my crocheting on a daily basis. Another kitten watched movies with me, helped me write notes, and read books. All the cats I have watched are super curious about unloading the groceries, and they love to come running to the door when I come home. I have had oodles of toys laid out for them from balls to stuffed mice to ball-around-the track. I love to share treats--whether salmon bites or Fancy Feast... Cats were my favorite animal as a child--and they have quickly become my favorite animal as an adult! Years of playing with kittens, caring for pregnant moms, and petting adult cats as a foster care volunteer at my local shelter have introduced me to the plethora of personalities in the cat realm. And they are precious, mischievous, and always have a story to tell.

As a child, I helped raise a kindle of kittens and studied my cat breed manual endlessly. I love learning about new cat breeds, rescued cats, and all the personalities to match! During my college years, I shadowed a veterinarian. We took care of cats, dogs, kittens, and large animals, and I learned a lot about caring for their medical needs. Later, I served at a local wildlife park, helping with the baby animals, including a baby wallaby, baby African crested porcupine (so sweet!), and my favorite, a baby capybara.
Now, I care for cats both for friends, my local community, and for their future homes. During the day, I help at my local preschool and take care of my assortment of plants. I also love to read, watch the "All Creatures Great and Small" series about James Herriot, the Scottish veterinarian, through the PBS channel, and dream up names for my own cats one day. For the rest of my time, I look forward to caring for your cat in the Vestavia, Mountain Brook, Homewood, and Hoover area.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for over five years and caring for cats for over fifteen years!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love forming relationships with the cats on their terrain, ensuring that all their needs are met, and enjoying how relaxed and comfortable they are in their own home.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite reservations was for a dear local family. When I arrived, they had recently added a kitten to their family, and she was timid and unsure, tucked away under the nearest bed. Overtime, I developed a relationship with her and enjoyed watching her grow and flourish to the sweetest, outgoing adult cat. Her brother was incredible to - a cat the size of a small dog!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do not currently have any cats, but I have fostered over 100 cats and kittens and provided care for numerous local families for their sweet felines.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
First, I set up a meet-and-greet to begin a great relationship with you and your cat. You share your preferences and their needs, as well as any pertinent details, such as their favorite treats. Next, I ask for a rundown of their routine—feeding, playtime, or meds—and share how I’ll keep things consistent. Finally, I’d confirm visit details and answer any questions, ensuring comfort for everyone involved. I also offer to send daily updates with photos. How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Safety is paramount - I rely on solid instructions from my pet families, as well as a background rich with experience, including medical experience, to care for pets, including paying attention to their environment, their disposition, and their food and water intake and outtake.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I am frequently available during holidays.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Each cat is different and loves different toys - my favorite toy is their favorite toy! Some cats love cat beds, others love lasers. Some felines go crazy over catnip, and others like noisemakers that rattle and move. I enjoy discovering each cat's favorite ways of engagement.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Salt Lake City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
