Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Sven is a spoiled white Oriental Shorthair that loves to be swaddled like a baby. He sleeps close to my heart every night. Vladislav is an intelligent handsome black OSH that requires lots of stimulation and regular wand playing.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Make sure the sitter has specific cat experience since they are extremely different from dogs. Meet them before hiring them and have them meet your pets.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Always keep the windows closed and enter the home slowly watching for where the pets are. When leaving I always check that i have a visual on the pets before closing and locking the door.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Pretty much! But of course would need advance notice.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Electronic toys that entertain when I can't. My cats favorite is the wand! One even sits and cries by the door it's stored in.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Approaching slowly with a treat or toy depending on what pet parent says they like.

I would not hesitate to trust Deborah with my own cats. I know how much love she has for cats in general and have seen how her own cats are loved and cared for. I believe she would be vigilant with ensuring that any cat under her care would be observed for any possible issues. Her love of the feline would make her an excellent choice as a cat sitter.

Deborah has 5 of her own cats and the care and cleanliness of not only the cats but litter box is the best I have ever seen. Animals, and especially cats always come first. I would highly recommend her and she would be the first one I would call if I needed help with a cat.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Staunton cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
