What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been a pet sitter professionally and on my own for 10 years now. I worked for several companies around Northern VA.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love cats and I enjoy meeting all different types of breeds. I have a ragdoll at home and I have been able to meet some exotic breeds through my clientele like the Cornish Rex.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I used to sit these two older brothers and I really enjoyed spending their golden years together. I’ll never forget their warmth and playful, kitten like mentality.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have four cats, Harlocke (Russian blue mix) and Yuki (Ragdoll) are my babies I’ve had for 10 years now. My husband had a Russian blue of his own, Caesia, and we adopted a tuxedo (Plu) together once we married.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Make sure you vibe well with your cat sitter, that you ask them what they are comfortable with, and hopefully that matches what you are looking for. Not all sitters understand breed temperament, so make sure they have worked with your cat’s personality type. That understanding will come through

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to understand where everything is, i.e, litter box, food bowls, sleeping areas, hiding spots are. Do they like certain sounds or turned off by certain smells? I want to make sure I foster the best understanding and make sure I’ll mesh well with you and your baby.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I lock all doors while in and after I leave, ALWAYS. You never know in this crazy world. I never give out details to anyone of my clientele to insure the safety of the home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I have two young toddlers, so I’ currently limiting how many sits I take on holidays. Please book ahead to get priority.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love laser toys the most, as it really gets them moving and grooving. I think it’s super important to get your cat exercised, as most live very docile lives. It’s important to get that latent energy out (or they will take it out on your furniture!)

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them their space, it might take a few visits before they warm up. Forcing an encounter never ends up well.

Sandra was amazing! She always arrived at the time we agreed upon and gave my pets plenty of attention and care. It was very comforting knowing she didn’t simply arrive, change the cat litter, feed the cats, then sit on her phone the rest of the visit until she left (some pet sitters have done this before). Honestly, she provided me so much relief while on vacation sending plenty of photos from each visit. 10/10 recommend.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

The Meowtel Promise & Satisfaction Guarantee

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
