Meowdy! I'm Kristina. I started Queen City Cat Lounge, where we care for, socialize, and find homes for rescued Vermont cats, while providing cat therapy for humans.

I have 18 years of experience caring for cats in shelters, sanctuaries, veterinary clinics, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and homes.

I am comfortable administering medication, including IV fluids, insulin injections, oral medicine, topicals, eye drops, and ointments. I am no stranger to specialized diets and feeding rituals!

I have certifications in animal CPR, zoonoses, pain management, and disasters rescue/recovery from the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council and FEMA.

I serve on the board for the Humane Society of Chittenden County, and Wild in Vermont; and am on the advisory council for the Bear Care Group (a global consortium of bear biologists).

I love fostering rescue cats, and forming deep bonds with cats that I care for while their families are away. I believe that finding reliable, trustworthy, loving cat care makes being away from them much more comfortable. It is infinitely rewarding to me to be able to make your time away comfortable, enriching, safe, and happy for your catto.

Learn More About Kristina

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cat, Minerva, is 11 years old. I have fostered 30+ cats, some of whom were feral kittens, undersocialized cats, and superseniors with severe medical conditions. While they were only "my" cats for a few months at a time, I consider them family. One of my (formerly) feral litters (now socialized and in loving homes from whom I receive updates) I named after some of my favorite Arrested Development characters; George Michael, Gob, Buster, and Maebe.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to get an in-depth brief from a parent about their cat's routine, likes, dislikes, habits, preferred enrichment activities, and sensitivities. Tell me about your cat's typical day. How do they act when you're not around? How can I make them happy? What kind & frequency of communication do you purr-efer? Any dietary restrictions? I want to know it all so I have the tools to communicate and bond with your cat. A meet & greet is my preferred way to meet your cat - a friend of a friend is your cat's new bestie.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love to use wand toys, ping pong balls, tiny mice, catnip-stuffed toys, and springs. Hunting treats is a great form of exercise, enrichment, and bonding.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

South Burlington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
