What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve had cats most of my life, so going on 49 years. I’m currently dog walking and housesitting for mostly dog owners, however, I recently house sat two cats in LA and then fostered a small kitten here at my home. It was a wonderful experience since she was so sweet and loving and not scared at all.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Each cat has a different personality and it is fun to either engage in cuddling them and/or playing with them, or even just helping to make them feel at ease while they know that they are apart from their family. I truly enjoy making their life more comfortable by helping them to feel safe.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I recently took care of a Ragdoll kitten. I thought that maybe she would want to go back into her carrier for reassurance, but she was so sweet and friendly that she just slept with me on my bed and acted like my room was Hers after only a couple of hours. She was so easy to play with and cuddle with due to her lack of fear.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do not currently have any pets. I would love to have my own cats and a small dog again someday.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Be sure to vet your cat sitter on how they would handle their coming and going to ensure that your cat does not escape and become lost.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I make sure to answer all of my new clients’ questions and I love to get an idea as to what they would prefer they receive from my services.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure that the cats are always validated in their location during my duration of my stay there. If I ever need to leave the house, I am very careful with how I open and close doors to ensure that they do not escape without my knowledge. I always want the cat to be comfortable in knowing that I am there with them in the house, even if they are hiding from me, however, I always want to respect their personal space and privacy.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am usually available during holidays. It is pretty rare that I am not available unless I have been previously booked with another client.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is the fishing pole with feathers at the end of the string. Most cats find it difficult to resist. Also, with cats that don’t seem to play much, I’ve been able to get many to respond to a crumble ball of paper.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With cats who are particularly timid or anxious, I give them space and yet I’d like to get down to their level (if hiding somewhere like under a bed) and give them long, slow blinks to ensure that they know that I mean them no harm. I continue to check on them periodically so that they are aware of my presence, but I allow them to have their personal space .

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
