Cat Sitting in Lakewood, WA
For morning visits - Monday through Friday I can only do 20 minute visits before work (9am). This is limited to Lakewood, University Place, Fircrest, and North/West Tacoma. Please message me before booking so I can adjust my availability!
I’ve worked in the mental health field for 11 years for a nonprofit behavioral health agency. My schedule is typically Monday-Friday (9–5). I’m a houseplant lover and fish hobbyist, and I’m happy to help care for plants or aquariums if needed during my visits. If requested, I will bring in mail/packages.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
One of my favorite things about cat sitting is learning about the little things owners do for their cats and how they ‘spoil’ them. The things that sometimes you can feel silly doing or asking for, but are an important part of their day to day routine. Like preparing their food in just the right way, a particular treat routine, certain toys they favor, making sure their favorite cozy spot is ‘just right.’ I too have little things I do for my cat - like leaving treats at the fireplace when I leave the house. You are your cat’s expert, and I will do my best to replicate every detail of their routine - even the little things that may seem silly! I also love trying to get that perfect photo of your cat to send you!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats named Bogey & Birdie. He was almost named Gordy, after my favorite musical artist (and inspiration for Carefree Catway) Gordon Lightfoot! Bogey has all the great traits of a Ragdoll with some extra spice and attitude. Birdie is an independent girl, a total sweetheart, and loves cuddles on her terms.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I believe it is best practice to have a thorough meeting prior to the first official visit. This will allow us to talk through your expectations, your home entry/exit instructions, your cat’s needs and preferences, identify what information you would like to be provided with in terms of visit updates, ask questions, ensure that I thoroughly understand your care instructions - and most importantly, for you and your kitties to determine if I am the right sitter for them :)
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
In my own home, I am very aware of potential hazards to my cat, i.e., blinds, electrical cords, house plants, toys that require supervision, small items on the floor, closed windows, etc. While in your home, I will have that same vigilance. I will diligently monitor your cat(s) and remain observant for any concerning behaviors or safety situations and notify as needed. I will follow your care instructions, respect your home, and your cat’s routines and preferences.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I have few commitments during the holidays and am very flexible. I typically stay local so I have no issue taking time to visit while you’re off enjoying your holiday!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Specifically, one of my favorite toys is the 'Cat Dancer’ though I'm a fan of any toy that is safe, encourages mental stimulation, offers enrichment, and is not easily lost under a couch or refrigerator!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach with cats. I believe that it is our duty when caring for cats to learn what works best for them and respect their comfort zone (even if it's hiding under a bed for the entire visit!) I pay close attention to cat’s cues and follow their lead - even more so when they are potentially timid or anxious. I let them approach me in their own time, and I avoid sudden movements or reaching for them. I’m conscious of my body language and the tone/volume of my voice as to make myself as unintimidating as possible. I incentivize with treats or toys as allowed by the owner, if it can help their cat feel more comfortable when meeting new people. Earning the trust of a shy kitty is one of the most rewarding aspects of cat sitting!

It's always hard to leave our kiddos (4 cats 3 to 9yrs) home but knowing Celina genuinely cares about their day to day routines, favorite treats/activities, favorite toys, hiding places, etc. really helps. She goes above and beyond keeping our cats feeling loved and spending time with them when we are away. She even searches for our shy hiding cats to ensure they are ok. We love getting the daily photos or videos during her visits...we can tell they are well cared for, happy, and eating drinking ok. plus we miss them too, so it helps! Even our more shy cats are starting to come out of hiding during her visits! peace of mind while away is priceless. We also love how close she lives to us in the area so we know its not an inconvenience and she has plenty of time to visit without added driving time. Its evident she keeps their litter boxes very clean, uses the food as requested for freshness, familiarity etc. We couldn't be happier with Celina!

She listened to every detail of my instructions, asked questions, and took notes. It was clear that she took her role seriously and wanted to ensure Cisco’s routine was followed perfectly. Cisco can be shy around new people but looked happy and relaxed in the photos/videos she sent. Celina took time to brush him at each visit, which is a huge help for his coat maintenance. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lakewood cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
