Cat Sitting in Renton, WA

Cats, they provide an enduring unconditional love only cat parents understand. I am a cat mom of two senior cats (Cali and Minimi) I adopted at 5 weeks. They are my fur kids traveling with me across many life adventures from Southern California to Northern California and now Washington. Cali was my buddy, my side kick, and it broke my heart when she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in July 2023. While she was only given a few months or less to live, I became an even stronger cat mom to give her subcutaneous (IV) fluids each day which extended her life nearly one year! These fluid treatments each day became a true bonding experience. While it hurt to see my Cali gradually lose weight throughout the year, it filled me with joy to see how much these fluid treatments brought her energy and a return to her adorable cat self. Sadly, she lost her battle with kidney disease in April 2024. I am so very grateful for the 17 years and many happiness memories with Cali. Cali will forever have a special place in my heart... In June of 2024, after one of my volunteer shifts at a local shelter, I felt the time was right to bring home a 2 month brown tabby with a unique orange marking on her foot. This orange marking is my Cali shining through in Tali. Tali is a precious, playful and curious kitten sharing several personality traits as Cali.

On June 29, 2025, my sweet Minimi passed away peacefully in her favorite hiding place under my bed. Her health slowly declined starting in March when she lost a lot of weight at a vet exam. She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (due to decreased weight and increased appetite and vocalization). After receiving medication for about a month, her kidney levels increased at a follow-up vet exam in early June. (I learned hyperthyroidism medication can impact the kidneys.) She was removed from this medication, but she continued to lose weight as well as appetite. Her last meal was a Churu treat licked off of my finger late her last night. Losing both of my fur kids who lived with me for 18 years in many different homes along the west coast tears me to pieces, but I am also so grateful for the long life I gave them. Our fur kids live forever in the many happy memories we hold close to our heart.

In August 2025, Tali needed another feline friend so another 3 month tabby kitten found her forever home. Meet Carrie! I also call her Chatty because she is a chatterbox and loves to purr.🐱♥️

Outside of caring for my own cats, I volunteer at the local humane society 1 - 2 days a week.

I prefer to serve neighborhoods in the Renton Fairwood and surrounding areas. My current schedule allows flexibility in the time of day.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

In the past, I cared for other cats as a cat sitter serving the Marin County area in Northern California for 1 - 2 years. In addition, I volunteer at a local shelter in their cat care enrichment program.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy extending my love for cats outside of my immediate cat family and meeting new cats of all shapes, sizes, and personalities.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Minimi (Tuxedo) *3 months before 18 years, she passed away peacefully under my bed (in June 2025) Cali (Calico) *At 16.5 years, she lost her battle with chronic kidney disease (in April 2024) Minimi and Cali were sisters I adopted at 5 weeks. Tali (Brown Tabby) 1 year 3 months Chatty- Carrie (Grey Tabby) 3 months

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

One tip is to provide clear and detailed care instructions especially if the cat has special needs or requires medication. It can also be helpful for the cat sitter to be aware of any behaviors which can appear as abnormal but are normal for the cat. Cats can be very different with unique personalities or quirks!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I thoroughly read and review the cat care instructions provided by the cat owner at the beginning of each visit.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available during the holidays. I will updated my availability as soon as possible if my schedule changes.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Whichever toy my cats want to play with in the moment! My cats are very spoiled with many different types of toys. Minimi's favorite toy is a “mouse trap” toy with smaller toys inside to pull out and play with, but as an older senior cat she loves just to lay on this toy! My new kitten, Tali loves to pull out the toys to play with. Lately, Tali's favorite toy is a spring toy. My Cali used to love cat nip! All my cats love simple boxes, from Amazon, Chewy, or wherever - even better if there is crumpled up paper inside!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I approach the cat slowly and squat down to the cat’s level. I speak in a softer tone. I allow the cat to sniff me before I pet or touch it.

Our cat is very shy and gets extra anxious when we’re away from home for more than a week. Robin took great care of him, made sure he has all his food and treats each time and took special care to make him feel safe. He was happy and purring when we got back.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
