Cat Sitting in Seattle, WA

Hi, I’m Erica! I’m a heart on my sleeve cat lover, cozy homebody, and natural caretaker based in the Portage Bay neighborhood of Seattle.

My approach to cat sitting is rooted in gentleness, humor, and deep respect- for the cats, your home, and your peace of mind. Whether your kitty is a social butterfly, a shy little ghost, or a mischievous gremlin, I take the time to understand their rhythm and meet them exactly where they are.

I also love photography, so you can expect thoughtful updates with a text message and 1–2 photos every visit. I know how reassuring it is to see your cats happy and cared for while you’re away, and I...

I know how reassuring it is to see your cats happy and cared for while you’re away, and I enjoy capturing their little quirks and cozy moments! 🐾

I pride myself on being punctual, communicative, and calm under pressure. I’ll keep things tidy, waters topped, litter clean, and will lovingly tend to your plants or small house tasks while making sure your cats feel safe, seen, and comfy.

Outside of cat sitting, I love winding down with a big cup of earl grey and a good book. I enjoy thrifting, exploring farmer’s markets, painting, hiking the forests with my partner, and playing with our own beloved cat, Cake, who truly runs the household (as she should!).

My background is in Clinical Mental Healthcare, which means I bring both warmth and professionalism to every visit. My schedule is flexible, and I’m happy to accommodate morning and evening check-ins.

I’d be honored to care for your kitty family while you’re away. I know how deeply we love our pets, and I take that trust to heart! 🩵🤎

Learn More About Erica

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I ensure safety and security by following all care instructions closely and keeping doors and windows closed. I double-check that food, water, and litterbox areas are clean and safe, and I’m mindful about not letting cats slip outside. I also make sure the home is locked and secure after each visit, treating the space with the same care and respect I would my own!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I handle timid or anxious cats by moving quietly and slowly to avoid startling them. I crouch down to their level so they can approach and smell me on their own terms, and I often avoid direct eye contact at first. I speak softly, make no sudden movements, and let them set the pace for interaction.

Erica did a wonderful job watching my Chloe cat. I was away fro three nights and needed someone to stop by in the evenings to feed her wet food, clean litter, and keep her company/play with her. Every evening Erica would provide a detailed text of everything that she did and photos of Chloe snuggled up beside her, which was so nice! I highly recommend Erica and will be in touch if I am ever out of town again 😌

Erica was absolutely amazing with Oli. She’s reliable, communicative, and clearly has a natural way with cats—Oli adores her. As an extra bonus, she even watered our plants and brought in our packages without us asking. We’re so grateful for her care. Thanks, Erica!

Erica did an AMAZING job watching our cats. She gave thorough updates which were not only fun but let us know even the smallest instructions were being followed. She also clearly developed a relationship with our cats during the job. Finally, when our flight home was cancelled at the last minute, she hurried over to make sure they still got their dinner. We can't recommend her enough!

Erica is very reliable and speaks cat. She had lots of creative and fun ideas for play to keep my kittens busy and followed the instructions exactly for their daily care. I think the cats were disappointed when I came back and they didn’t have their fun play buddy anymore! She also went a step above to keep everything clean and swept. I would highly recommend Erica!

This was our second time booking Erica, and both of the times, she did an awesome job taking care of our kitties! We have two cats, and one of them is pretty shy, and for other cat sitters, the shy one would sometimes not come out of hiding. But Erica must have a knack for making cats feel comfortable, because our shy cat never missed a play session with her. In addition to this, Erica is reliable and detail-oriented, and we would highly recommend booking her to take care of your kitties.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
