Self-Intro: Hello! My name is Jana Chan and I have one adorable and sweet black cat named Nori (because her fur is black with a tint of green like seaweed!). I adopted Nori at the Washington Humane Society on National Cat Day when she was a scruffy 1-year-old kitten and we've been together ever since. Fun fact: Nori and I have lived in Washington DC, Japan, and Seattle over the past five years. She's an international traveler!
Experience: I have had cats at home my whole life and started cat-sitting when I was in high school (over 10 years ago). I have experience working with households of 1-2 cats, with ages ranging from 3-week-old kittens to 14-year-old senior cats. Schedule: Outside of cat-sitting, I work as a public sector consultant at IBM. My normal day job working hours are 9-5, but I have some flexibility with my schedule as long as I have a little advance notice. I prefer to visit either in the mornings before 8 am or afternoons after 4 pm. I am available anytime during the weekends.
Service Areas: I currently live in Roosevelt (North Seattle) and do not own a car, so I am limited to areas that are serviced by public transit or are within walking distance.
COVID-19 Safety: I take the pandemic very seriously. Even though I am now fully vaccinated, I have still been respecting pandemic practices (e.g., social distancing, avoiding crowded indoor areas) and regularly get tested as a precaution. I will wear a mask throughout the duration of my visit and I will also sanitize my hands before entering your house to reduce the risk of carrying anything in. My priority is safety and communication for your family and your cat!

Truly excellent and compassionate sitter who really got on with my cat. I was pleasantly surprised at how comprehensive her documentation was; not just pics and video of my cat, but also of everything she cleaned and took care of. She even watered a plant for us. I was especially surprised and pleased at how she tried to sing the feeding time song I usually sing for my cat. Really great all around.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Jana was very professional and great with our two orange tabbies. This was our first time using a service and was alittle nervous leaving them with a stranger. By day two our female knew Jana's schedule and waited for her daily. Jana sent pics and updates every day. Very pleased with the experience.
