What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been working with Meowtel since 2020, but I have been pet-sitting for many, many years. No matter what else is going on in life or what other job I have, taking care of kitties always makes me smile and have fun!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I like getting to know cats because they are each so different. I like to gain their trust and getting them to like me.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had a new client and her kitty was very shy, I didn't meet the kitty before the assignment started. So first visit, I tip-toed around the house looking everywhere for this cat. Fifteen minutes later, I find her under a couch and she is the hugest, fluffiest animal I've ever seen! With a little coaxing, she came out and we were immediate buddies. The parent was so happy!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have one cat, he is a tuxedo named Blackjack. He is 16 years old now so doesn't romp about like he used to, but he's the best companion ever.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Messaging the sitter first and even asking for a phone call can offer an idea of dedication and responsibility for the client.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Meet and greets are priceless! I listen, I take notes, and like to ask questions about personality and habits.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am careful to leave the home exactly as I arrived with minimal opening of windows and doors. I am happy to manage alarm systems as necessary.
Are you usually available during holidays?
All holidays except the Christmas holiday as I usually travel to be with family. I am usually around for Thanksgiving. All others I am available.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Laser pointers, hands down!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I usually play some music (Mozart or Bach has the most success). I may try a treat, if acceptable. But mostly I just sit with the music and let them approach if they feel like it.

She also did some problem solving, clean up, repairs when one kitty barfed (oops, sorry Diane!) and another broke into the kibble machine and helped himself. I’d absolutely trust her, and would use her again any day!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
