Cat Sitting in Seattle, WA

Hi, I’m Annaliese. I cat sit because I genuinely love spending time with cats and getting to know each cat’s distinct personality.

I’ve cared for cats my entire life and began professionally cat sitting last June. I truly love this work. My experience as a veterinary assistant at a cat-only clinic, along with my Applied Animal Behavior certificate, continues to inform how I care for cats today. Together, these experiences have given me the tools to care for your cat with both warmth and knowledgeable attention.

During each visit, I provide fresh food and water, thorough litter scooping, and a visual wellness check (appetite, energy, coat condition, eyes, and litter box habits). I’m experienced with insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, oral medications, and caring for senior or medically complex cats...

I’m experienced with insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, oral medications, and caring for senior or medically complex cats. If anything seems out of the ordinary, I will contact you promptly and follow your preferred plan.

I adjust my approach to each individual cat. For social cats, I incorporate interactive play and enrichment tailored to their personality and energy level. Watching a cat leap, chase, and fully commit to a toy always makes me smile. For shy or anxious cats, I move slowly, keep my voice calm, and allow them to approach on their own terms.

I also have extensive experience caring for senior cats, cats requiring medication, and cats who simply benefit from a calm, reassuring presence. My shelter experience strengthened my ability to read feline body language and respect boundaries so I can adjust easily to each cat’s comfort level.

I treat your home with care and double-check doors, windows, and feeding areas before I leave. You can expect thoughtful updates, clear communication, and photos from every visit. I’m grateful to have repeat clients who fully trust me with their cats.

My goal is simple: that your cat feels safe, and that you feel completely confident while you’re away.

Learn More About Annaliese

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've cared for cats my entire life, and I began professionally cat sitting in August 2025 when I started transitioning my career toward working with cats full-time. Since then, I've cared for 50+ cats, including playful kittens, shy cats, seniors requiring subcutaneous fluids, and cats needing daily medication. Several of my clients have become repeat clients, which I consider one of the greatest compliments. I take each visit seriously, beginning with a complimentary meet-and-greet where I learn about your cat's personality, routine, eating habits, litter box preferences, and any medical needs. My goal is always to provide attentive care that helps your cat feel comfortable and helps you feel confident while you're away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to meet new cats and reconnect with the ones I've cared for before. It's gratifying to walk into a client's home and be greeted by a cat who's excited to play, get some rubs, or enjoy a fresh meal. The shy ones, the curious observers, and the seniors are just as special. Some of my favorite moments are when a cat starts purring or seeks out attention, showing they feel happy and safe. I also love being part of the gentle transformation of a shy cat slowly coming out to explore and becoming comfortable enough to approach me.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting reservation so far has been caring for Leo. At our meet-and-greet, his pet parent was surprised when Leo came out of the back room to check me out. I sat on the floor to give him space and let him approach in his own time, which he did with curiosity. Since then, his trust has grown. When I arrive, he greets me with a soft purr and a gentle rub against my legs, and we move into whatever he's in the mood for, be it play, chin scratches, or food. Every cat is different, and I always adjust to their pace and personality, but there's a special sweetness in the way Leo and I have built our own little routine.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a striking black cat named Onyx, who often tears around the apartment like the wild leopard she resembles, bounding up and down her indoor cat tree. She came into my life nine months after I my 17-year-old cat, Nausicaa, passed from kidney failure. At the time, I wasn't sure I was ready for another cat, but Onyx needed a home, and it turns out I needed her, too. Onyx makes me laugh every day, keeps me company, and has a gentle, patient nature that reminds me how important cats are.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice when hiring a cat sitter is to choose someone your cat feels safe with. Look for a sitter who is not only reliable but also genuinely understands cats and their tells. Pay attention to how the sitter talks about cats. Someone who understands feline behavior will often describe working with cats differently than someone who simply enjoys being around animals. A great sitter will respect your cat's personality, whether they're playful, shy, or independent. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and share what makes your cat unique, such as their likes, dislikes, moods, or any special needs. Trust your instincts and watch how your cat responds during the first meeting. If they seem comfortable, that's usually the best sign you’ve found the right fit.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, I like to schedule a meet-and-greet as early as possible, giving us plenty of time to discuss your cat's routine, preferences, medical needs, and any concerns you may have. During the meet-and-greet, I spend time getting to know you and your cat. If your cat is comfortable, I'll sit on the floor and allow them to approach me on their terms. We’ll also go over feeding, litter care, favorite toys, hiding spots, medications, and any other details that help me provide consistent care while you're away. If medication is involved, I prefer to schedule the meet-and-greet around a medication time whenever possible so I can observe your process and gives your cat an opportunity to see me as part of their routine. My goal is for you both to feel comfortable before the reservation begins, so when you're away, everything feels familiar, calm, and well prepared.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When I care for a timid or anxious cat, I move quietly as I prepare food, refresh water, and clean the litter box. Cats are naturally aware of their surroundings, and stress can make them even more sensitive to sound and movement. My own cat, Onyx, is especially sensitive, so I'm always mindful of the energy I bring into a home. I respect boundaries and never force a cat to interact or come out of hiding. Instead, I sit quietly and invite them with a soft voice, a treat, or a feathery toy, letting them choose if and when to engage.

Annaliese was absolutely amazing! We have 2 special needs geriatric cats (our male Iago has advanced kidney disease & our female Daff is deaf & blind). We had Annaliese come over 2 times each day for 6 days to administer subcutaneous fluids, give medications, feed our kiddos, etc. We were really nervous leaving them but Annaliese put us right at ease immediately. She was great about sending photos to us every day and giving us detailed daily updates. When we came home at the end of the week, our home was clean and our animals very content. Kind, caring and experienced with special needs kitties, we highly recommend Annaliese for anyone who wants a reliable and experienced cat sitter.

Annaliese did a great job with my senior cat who can be difficult with cat sitters. Throughout our trip, Annaliese kept us up to date on our cats mood, eating and litter box habits. Unfortunately that week my cat wasn’t in the mood for play time and pleasantries, but Annaliese made sure she had fresh water, food, medications and other necessities. Don’t hesitate to book with Annaliese.

She was an exceptional sitter and truly went above and beyond. She stayed overnight with my cats, kept my place spotless, and was incredibly attentive and responsible throughout the entire stay. My cat had an FIC flare the day before I left and her communication was excellent, and I always felt informed and reassured. I fully trusted her with my cats and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate care.

Annaliese was very good at communicating and being proactive in setting up the meet and greet as soon as she accepted the request to watch our little furball. She sent pictures from each visit. Odo was in great spirits when we returned.

Anneliese was absolutely wonderful! She followed all of my detailed instructions and made sure my senior cat got the care she needed while I was away. I really appreciated the frequent photo updates and message, it was clear Maeby was relaxed and in good hands. Since she’s a vet tech, I felt completely at ease knowing she could handle Maeby’s medication without stressing her out. I came home to a happy cat and a spotless house. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely book her again!

This was the second time Annaliese took care of my cat. My cat is a senior with some chronic health conditions. Annaliese made sure she got her medication and when my cat had some behavior that was a little worrisome, updated me and made sure everything was ok before leaving and on future visits she made sure to send lots of reassuring updates and photos. Annaliese also left my place super clean and even helped out by putting my bins out on trash day since I wasn’t there to do it.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
