What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
2011 I began cat sitting professionally. I provide drop in care and also overnight care.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy keeping the routine the cat is used to. Feeding, playing and treat time when they have come to expect it.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I appreciate all the information the cat's person wants to tell me about their cat.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have one cat named, Squeak.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I learn about the needs of the cat and also what I can do to help the cat parent feel confident that their beloved cat will be safe and well cared for.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Making certain exterior doors and windows are secure and items are cat safe that are left out on the counters.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am available during holidays.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I enjoy playing with cats and their toys. Each cat has their preference and it is fun to discover new toys. My cat enjoys playing catch with her toy mice. I think the red light chase game is fun for many cats.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I sit quietly and allow them to come to me. I feed them and give them their approved treats. I speak in a calm and quiet voice to the cats. Sometimes I read aloud the instructions their person has provided.

April was awesome! She took expert care of our cat, Fred. She visited with her, sent us frequent updates, and kept Fred happy. We were really concerned about leaving her, but Fred seemed to really take to April. It really was a load off of our minds knowing that our cat was being cared for in our absence. Fred was abandoned and semi-feral when we took her in, and April hit it out of the park with how she was able to gain Fred's trust so quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Spanaway cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
