What can I say, I have been a cat lover for as long as I can remember! I have been to lucky have cats of every shape, size, and personality; from your overly treat motivated purr machine tabbies to your "I love you with strong boundaries" long hairs- all are acutely wonderful in their unique ways. Now I look forward to sharing my experience with you and your kitty!

My goal is to help you feel more at ease and comfortable knowing that your cats (and home) will be carefully cared for and respected while you are away.
I was lucky enough to be the mom to a beautiful Maine Coon with irritable bowel disease and diagnosed heart failure so I have learned the skills to comfortably administer medication (oral and topical) and understand the importance of time and daily schedule.
I work an on call surgical job with a flexible schedule so it might take me a little bit to respond but I will respond as soon as I am able. Since this is the case I do ensure I am not oncall to be in the OR on days I am booked to ensure I am available in case of cat care needs or specific time requests arise.
The days I am not called in my schedule is pretty open and meeting new cats brings joy to me! Thank you for filling my cup and for trusting me to care for your kitty :) If I have sat for you before don't hesitate to reachout to see if I am available to help!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I am happily the mom of two sweet boys, Diego and Percy! Diego is a 2 year old short haired tabby that has reminded me how much energy I have. He is full of life and curiosity. He loves going on walks in the hallway (which we call pawtrols) as well as spending time on the porch with his mom! Percy is a recent addition, less than a year old and full of spunk! He rarely runs but he somehow still ends up being the greatest predator of toes one might ever meet. His favorite thing in the world is his big brother and snuggling under the blankets with his mom. A few moons ago I had the pleasure of being a mom to Benjamin, the sweetest short haired tabby and Nalo, my wonderful Maine Coon. They both were loved so dearly.
Are you usually available during holidays?
My job has me on a set holiday rotation so there will be some holidays I will not be able to, however, this is predetermined on a rotating basis so I will know my availability for many years to come.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toy isn't a cat toy at all! When I first moved out of my parents house I did not have too much extra money to spend. One day I was eating some pringles and Mr. Nalo came over and snatched the lid right away from the top of the can! Many years later we still have a small stash of pringle can lids and milk rings that we play fetch with.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I take a 'meet everyone where they are at' approach to caring for all kitties, especially timid or anxious cat. I know our cats probably miss us as much as we miss them when we are away so balancing the emotions of "I miss my parents" and "someone new" can be difficult. Taking a slow approach with the first goal of being in the same room, small offerings of treats or food from a distance, and long distance toys all allow for trust building while allowing the space our timid kitties need to feel safe.

Heather recently looked after my cat Jenga while I was away from home and we had a great experience! Jenga is 16 years old and has a few extra steps to her care (medications and supplements) and Heather was more than willing to take care of these things. She sent detailed updates with lots of photos, so I knew how Jenga was doing and what she was up to. Jenga also seemed quite comfortable around Heather, from the photos she sent to me! Heather did an amazing job caring for our three cats while we were away. This was the first time that I had used a cat sitting service and it went great. Having two senior cats I was really looking for someone with a strong love for cats with “cat-intuition” vs. a neighbor to just come and feed them for 15 mins. Heather provided many photos and a great recap from each visit and during the meet and greet I could tell she was an animal person right away. This really helped me relax while we were away. She even got our mail and brought in some packages. We will definitely use her again in the future!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Madison cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
