Hi there, my name is Abby. I have been an occasional cat sitter for family, friends and neighbors since I was a teen (around 10 years) and am a total cat lover at heart. I have had experience cat sitting in households with 1 cat and more (even up to 20 cats)! I also have experience administering some medications. I have given oral medication and pills, topical ointments and flea preventatives, as well as eye and ear drops to cats. I can also administer insulin to kitties as well. I grew up with many cats at my parents' house throughout my youth and am now the proud owner of a cat of my own, a 5 year old fluffy tabby boy named Link. I have a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and am looking to work as a cat sitter to earn extra money outside my full time job and to help out pet parents. My job does sometimes have varying hours, so I will need to plan stays around that.
I am looking to serve Milwaukee neighborhoods and the surrounding area. I am willing to spend lots of time providing pets, playtime and cuddles, anything your fur baby requires! What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been a cat sitter ever since I was around middle school age. I sat for neighbors and family for many years and then discovered Meowtel after I moved to Milwaukee full time! I’ve been a sitter on Meowtel for around 3 years now and I love it! I’ve cat sat for homes with one, two and more kitties and even used to sit for a kitty colony when I was younger. Needless to say, I’ve been a cat lover through and through my whole life! 🐈

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats name is Link. He is a 6 year old medium hair rescue from MADACC and he is a big boy! He is my best bud and follows me everywhere in the house because he’s a mamas boy. ❤️

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I’ve worked with my fair share of shy kitties. Patience is key. I usually will spend a lot of time low or on the floor so I’m not a tall, scary presence. It’s best to let them come to you in their time. It also helps if you have treats as a bribe! I’ve had lots of luck as a cat-whisperer of shy babies. Some kitties will still prefer to watch from afar and that’s okay! They will still be checked up on, fed, watered and monitored to make sure they’re A-Ok.

Abby was amazing as our kitty sitter. I'm a pretty anxious cat mom and get stressed about leaving them. Abby communicated with us regularly, sent lots of photos and videos, and our rather shy girl cat loved her. Abby even left us a sweet Christmas card and gifts for the kitties. We will definitely hire her again!

Abby was great! She was very enthusiastic about watching my 3 very shy cats. Unfortunately my cats didn’t share the same enthusiasm for being cat-sat, and they didn’t engage. Abby persisted, and at least my cats weren’t mad at me when I came home.

We are so lucky to have found Abby through Meowtel, and have booked with her multiple times in the past year. Her updates and photos are so fun while making us feel like our cat Bonnie is well taken care of while we’re away. Abby was so great with my four cats. They were not stressed out when I got home. When one of my cats kept breaking into the cabinets with the treat she found a good hiding spot. I got daily photos and updates. my plants got watered too. she was great.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
