What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for quite some time and have cared for cats of all ages, from energetic kittens to sweet senior cats. I understand that every cat has a unique personality, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have one cat named [Kitty]. Taking care of [her] every day has really helped me understand how important consistency, patience, and attention are when caring for cats. I also am around my sisters cat Nyx and other cats a lot.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When caring for timid or anxious cats, I always move at their pace. I keep my movements slow and calm, speak softly, and give them space to approach me when they feel comfortable. I stick closely to their normal routine to help them feel secure and avoid forcing interaction. My goal is to build trust gradually and make them feel safe while their owner is away.

Jacquelyn was amazing!! She is so kind, thoughtful, and attentive. My kitties were very well taken care of while I was away, and I felt so good knowing she was checking in on them and taking care of everything they needed. Her communication is excellent -- she let me know when she was there and when she left, and sent me both kitty photos and photos of clean litter boxes and full dishes. 😊 I would trust her with my kitties any time without hesitation! She also shows genuine care and appreciation, so I know my kitties were truly cared for, not just a chore for her to complete. She went above and beyond, too, bringing in packages from the front porch, cleaning up the previous cat dishes, and refilling their water supply. She's the best!! I highly recommend her (and I'm quite picky 😊) and will absolutely have her watch my kitties again whenever I'm traveling in the future.

Jacquelyn is an excellent sitter. Usually, my cat is shy and hides from new people, but she warmed up to Jacquelyn quickly. Every day, Jacquelyn sent me detailed updates and cute photos that made it clear my cat was very happy. Though I was thousands of miles away for an extended period, I never felt worried about my cat while Jacquelyn cared for her. Jacquelyn also made an extra effort to keep and leave everything clean.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
