Hi, I’m Toni!

I’ve been caring for cats since I was 4 years old, and my love for them has only grown. Over the years, I’ve raised five amazing cats—all of whom lived beyond 15 years, with my oldest reaching 20. I recently adopted my sixth cat who is a DMH kitten named Howie.

I have hands-on experience with senior cats, administering medications (oral, topical, and even inhalers), and creating calm, comforting environments for cats with unique needs. I’m the go-to cat sitter for my friends and family because they know I treat every cat like my own.

During visits, I focus on keeping your cat’s routine consistent, offering plenty of love, and respecting their individual personality and boundaries. Whether your cat loves playtime, cozy companionship, or just a quiet presence, I’ll tailor each visit to what makes them feel safest.

What sets me apart is not just my lifelong experience, but the genuine joy I get from connecting with cats of all kinds. I’d be honored to care for your furry family member while you’re away!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for over 11 years, during which I’ve had the pleasure of caring for a wide variety of cats with different personalities and needs. This experience has taught me how to read feline body language and understand their unique behaviors, allowing me to provide personalized care that helps each cat feel comfortable and stress-free while their owners are away. Whether it’s administering medication, maintaining feeding schedules, or simply offering companionship and playtime, I am dedicated to being attentive to every cat’s well-being. Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of patience, attentiveness, and respect for each cat’s boundaries. My goal is always to create a safe, loving environment so your cat feels happy and secure in your absence. I’m passionate about cats and committed to providing the best care possible for your furry family members.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is meeting so many different cats and getting to learn about their unique personalities! Every cat has their own special quirks and behaviors, and I love discovering what makes each one special. It’s rewarding to build trust and form a bond with them, making their time apart from their owners as comfortable and happy as possible. Watching shy cats become more confident or playful cats stay engaged brings me a lot of joy. Every visit is a new experience, and I’m always excited to see what each cat will teach me about patience, affection, and individuality.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of my favorite cat sitting experiences was earning the trust of a very shy cat who the owner said wouldn’t come near me. With patience and gentle care, I was able to create a calm and safe space where the cat gradually felt comfortable enough to approach and even cuddle. It was incredibly rewarding to see that transformation and know I made a positive difference in that cat’s life during their owner’s absence. Moments like these remind me why I love cat sitting so much!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Saddie (passed) Proud Persian who loved water and quiet company. Needed daily grooming. Not cuddly, but loved in his own way. Buster (passed) Talkative marble tabby who loved pillow naps and brushing. Followed me everywhere. Lived a healthy, loving 17 years. Milo (passed) Siamese mix found sick and adopted. Calm indoor cat who loved sunbeams and quietly staying close by my side. Rocky (passed) Maine Coon mix with a big personality. Loved costumes, won contests, adored zip ties. Lived a long, sweet 20 years. Felix (passed) Shy tabby who hid but loved pets when he felt safe. Quiet and gentle, showed affection on his own terms. Naomi (passed) Feisty tabby from my grandmother. Wild spirit, not cuddly but trusted me and enjoyed playful moments. Drogo (alive) My honorary Bengal cat, skittish but affectionate with me. Wild markings and playful nature still shine bright. Howie (alive) One-year-old buff orange furball full of zoomies, smart tricks, and joy. He filled the void I felt without a cat.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice would be to look for a cat sitter who not only loves cats but also understands feline behavior and body language. Every cat is different, so it’s important to find someone who is patient, attentive, and willing to adapt to your cat’s individual needs and routines. Communication is key too—make sure the sitter is responsive, provides updates, and makes you feel comfortable while you’re away. A great cat sitter should prioritize your cat’s well-being, safety, and comfort above all else.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, I begin with a meet-and-greet where I ask all my questions about the cat’s routine, needs, personality, and any medical requirements. This helps me provide personalized care tailored specifically to their cat. I understand some cats may be too shy or scared to interact during the first visit, and that’s completely okay—I’m patient and respectful of their space. The meet-and-greet is mainly for me to gather important information from the owner and give the cat a chance to observe me up close or from a distance if they want. Throughout the sitting period, I keep the owner updated regularly with photos and messages to ensure they feel confident their cat is well cared for. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment where the cat feels happy and secure while their owner is away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I treat every cat and home with the same level of care and respect I would expect for my own. I make sure doors and windows are secure during each visit, follow feeding and medication instructions precisely, and keep an eye out for any changes in behavior or health. I also send regular updates so you know your cat is safe and happy. If anything seems off, I’ll contact you right away. Your pet’s well-being and your home’s security are my top priorities.

Are you usually available during holidays?

My availability during holidays varies since I often care for my family’s cats. However, if my calendar looks full, feel free to message me—I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs and find a way to help.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is a laser pointer. I often bring it to my sittings to see if the cats want to play and get active. It’s a great way to engage their natural hunting instincts and keep them entertained, especially indoors. Watching them chase the little red dot is always fun and helps them stay energized and happy while their owners are away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With timid or anxious cats, I always let them set the pace. I start by giving them space and speaking softly so they feel safe. I avoid direct eye contact, move slowly, and use calming body language. If they’re open to it, I’ll engage with toys or treats to build trust over time. I also try to stick closely to their usual routines to reduce stress. My goal is to create a calm, predictable environment so they feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Phoenix cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
