What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I am passionate about cats. I definitely fit the description of a loving cat lady, as I have cared for cats, for almost, all of my life, and have two right now. I have helped friends and family members when they travel. I am happy to take care of their kitties in every area needed. Kittens, all the way up to senior cats, are pure joy for me. I have been looking after my cats and friends' cats for well over 20 plus years now

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love them rubbing up against my legs, after they come to know and trust me. I love watching them happily eat their food, play with their toys, especially when I interact with a fun laser light. I love watching them get excited when I play with them or gently brush them. Hearing them purr with satisfaction, is awesome!! Whether its an interactive toy, wand or laser light, I am happy to play with them. As I mentioned, I love their purring, as I know they are happy being around me. So many things make me enjoy cat sitting.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One time recently I sat for a cute, timid kitty. Her mommy said, she will not come out from under the bed. Well, by the time, her mommy came home, we were good friends. I was able to brush her gently and play with her. That kitty was happy to join in on the fun. This kitty and Mom, were a total joy.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do have two Siamese mixed cat rescues. I got them from "Save One Life". They are Brother and Sister and approximately 1 year old each. The boy is Simba and the girl is Princess. They are high energy and a lot of fun.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Choose someone who loves cats more than anything. Preferably someone who has had lots of experience with kitties. (Like myself). Someone who wants genuinely, the best for your precious cat 🐈 Its important, both you and your cat to feel safe, happy, confident and in good hands. (This is how I would serve you). Additionally, someone who goes above and beyond to help you make the most of your time away. Someone, who can give YOU total peace of mind. I would clean the cat boxes, give them fresh water, add ice if desired, brush and play with your kitty, sweep any loose litter, and wash the dirty dishes. Pick up your mail. Always secure your cats and home when I leave. I would do everything you would do to make them feel loved.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My typical process is to respond to your request via the Meowtel as fast as possible, usually within 10 minutes to an hour. Then, if you have questions, we can chat and get them answered. When you feel we are a good fit, then we confirm your dates, and set up a reservation. From there, we can schedule an 'in-person meet and greet", this is offered FREE. When all is registered, I will meet you and your Kitty's in-person. Plus, I get the pleasure of meeting your kitty. Plus, if this time works, I can pick up your keys and prepare for your upcoming happy cat sit. You will have total peace of mind. You can travel, and I will send daily updates, including kitty pictures and videos, to keep you updated frequently. Great communication is very important!!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

My communication with you is very important. I will send you daily pictures and videos of your cats. I follow a check list, I make sure to follow your guide lines absolutely. I always secure your kitty and your home before I leave. You can trust that your kitty, or cats will be safe and secure in your home. I always double check everything for their safety, health and comfort.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am very busy during the holidays. If I am available, I am very happy to sit for your very special kitty. I am retired, so have lots of time for cat cuddles, and more. I do often get booked fast, so, please, dont hesitant to reserve me. I make it my priority to follow your directions. I want you to come home to a very happy, healthy, secure cat. 🐈

What is your favorite cat toy?

I have many favorite toys. My absolute favorite is a small laser light. It can bring life into a curious older Cat or a bouncy kitten. Just fun to watch them chase the red dot. My cats are spoiled, I have wands, interactive, spinning toys with sounds, feathers and so much more.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For shy kitties I have found its best to move very slowly with timid or anxious cats. I will even bend down and speak very softly too. I am extra sensitive to their needs. Show lots of love and patience 💕 A kind, gentle, loving voice and approach is usually best. They just need time, and lots of love ❤️ if they like gentle brushing, their purrs will let you know. Its important to read their body language and always, always be very gentle, no matter what. Sometimes a wand toy or little laser light can bring them out from where they may be hiding. I would not pick them up unless, I am sure they are happy with that. Patiently I will just love them.
