I am ready to provide the services that your cat needs, be it a quick drop in, a few hours of extended care, or an overnight stay... Hi! Iām Melissa and cats are one of my greatest joys in life. I have three kitties of my own - š Alice, Biscuit, and Beans šāā¬ - and have cared for pets since my childhood. Living in a multi-cat household, I am sensitive to the unique personalities, needs, and boundaries of each cat, and I canāt wait to meet yours!
I am ready to provide the services that your cat needs, be it a quick drop in, a few hours of extended care, or an overnight stay. I am equipped to administer oral and topical medications, and more than happy to provide play time, brushes, and plenty of pictures for your piece of mind.
Outside of cat sitting, I am a professional clarinetist and a new member of the Tucson Symphony! I have been playing since I was 12 years old, and chose the clarinet because of SpongeBob SquarePants, not knowing that it would turn into my greatest passion. My work requires a high level of attention to detail, focus, and reliability, and you can rest assured that I will bring these same qualities into caring for your pet. I am new to the city of Tucson and looking to become a part of the cat sitting community, and my schedule with the symphony leaves me a lot of flexibility to do so!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Itās hard on cats when their owner is away. Whenever Iām traveling or out of town, my cats definitely feel down. I love cat sitting because I can be there for these animals during a hard time, and help improve their day, even if only in a small way.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats. Alice (15), is our elderly lady. She is very shy and anxious, but when she trusts you, she is the sweetest angel. Biscuit and Beanie (3) are brothers, and best buds. Biscuit is my shadow, always by my side, I call him my assistant because he loves to sleep next to me while I practice! And Beanie is my special boy, heās zippy and wild and vocal and so much fun to be around.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am typically available for most holidays other than Thanksgiving and Christmas.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My cat Alice is particularly timid and anxious, she has some trauma from a previous owner. She enjoys being loved from afar. Iāve learned a lot from being her owner, that many cats have boundaries and need to be cared for in a unique way. Itās so important to give anxious cats space to feel safe and never rush interaction.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Tucson cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
