​I am incredibly proud to be a pet parent to a wonderful, active, multi-pet family! Currently, my household is run by Challa, a sleek and highly intelligent black shorthair cat who loves naps, alongside his brother Theo, a gentle but loyal Anatolian and German Shepherd mix. Managing their unique dynamic has taught me exactly how to balance different energy levels in one home seamlessly. I also had the profound privilege of spending over ten beautiful years raising my sweet calico cat, Eleanor, guiding her from her energetic younger days well into her delicate senior years. Caring for Eleanor taught me the deep value of patience, the importance of specialized senior care, and how to anticipate the evolving, daily needs of our feline companions as they age.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My absolute best advice is to specifically look for a sitter who asks highly detailed questions about your cat’s unique personality, emotional quirks, and triggers, rather than just asking about their daily feeding schedule. Every single cat has a specific baseline routine and comfort zone, and a truly great sitter wants to maintain that exact blueprint so your cat barely even registers your absence. Furthermore, I highly recommend finding someone who prioritizes proactive communication. You should never have to wonder how things are going at home. Ensure you leave crystal-clear instructions regarding their favorite hiding spots, your emergency veterinary contacts, and any specific house rules. A professional sitter should always be ready to protect your home's perimeter flawlessly while keeping your feline family member calm, happy, and thoroughly entertained.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

As a true cat whisperer, my greatest secret weapon is practicing absolute patience and actively mimicking natural cat behavior to make them feel completely safe in their own territory. I will never force an interaction, corner them, or drag a shy cat out from their favorite hiding spot. Instead, I enter the home quietly, speak in very low, soothing tones, and deliberately avoid direct, aggressive eye contact. Often, I will simply sit quietly on the floor nearby and mimic their calming signals—like the classic slow blink or a relaxed yawn—letting them know I am a completely non-threatening presence. By fundamentally respecting their physical boundaries and allowing them to dictate the pace of our interaction, I find that even the most deeply anxious cats will eventually step out, warm up, and offer their trust.
