I understand that every cat is unique, with personalities as varied as the colors of a rainbow š... Hi there! šš¼ My name is Irene, and Iām a registered veterinary technician turned stay-at-home mom. I have two rescue cats who were found as kittens on the streets, and theyāve completely stolen my heart. Sully, our 2-year-old Flame Point Siamese, is our brave little explorerāhe loves meeting new people, snuggling, and even going on walks. Mikey, on the other hand, is our "ghost cat"āif there are strangers around, you wonāt see him! Heās incredibly playful and silly with us but prefers to keep his distance from unfamiliar humans, and thatās perfectly okay. š„°
I understand that every cat is unique, with personalities as varied as the colors of a rainbow š. With over 10 years in the veterinary fieldāincluding experience in shelters and a zooāI have developed a deep understanding of feline behavior. I earned my bachelorās degree in zoology before becoming a licensed vet tech, and Iāve always cherished the human-animal bond. My goal is to treat every animal with respect, cater to their individual needs, and make their experience as stress-free as possible.
As a pet owner, you deserve to travel with peace of mind, knowing your fur babies are in good hands. I follow instructions to the dot, provide detailed daily updates, and send plenty of photos and videos. Based in Elk Grove, I offer flexible scheduling and am happy to discuss a plan that works for both of us.
I also have extensive experience caring for special-needs cats, including administering insulin, subcutaneous fluids, and daily medications. Your kittyās health and comfort are my top priorities.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I was sitting for a special, timid kitty named Mochi. She was absolutely terrified of strangers! After completing my tasks, I would sit quietly by her hiding spot and talk about my day. I wanted her to get used to my voice and scent, helping her feel more comfortable in my presence. Her favorite hiding spot was under a blanket on the bed, so every 10 minutes, I would gently toss a treat under the covers. And before leaving each day, Iād softly tap the blanket and say goodbye. By day 4, Mochi started peeking her head out when she heard my voice at the door. By day 6, she was sitting next to me, no longer hiding. Seeing that transformation unfold was incredibly rewarding. Watching a shy, fearful cat learn to trust me is one of the best feelings, and it makes every visit so worth it.

I found myself with 5 kitties that I couldln't give up so when I leave, I need someone to keep them on their routine and monitor what they've been up to. They are all active seniors now and Irene was a fantastic "kitty keeper" with my group. She sent me daily updates, pictures, and enjoyed interacting with them while I was out of state. We were all able to enjoy a stress-free week. I am putting her number on the "safe for the future" list.

Irene was an excellent cat sitter! This is the second time we have worked together. The first time was for the week of my wedding/honeymoon and was the first time I ever left my cats with someone that wasnāt family. As luck would have it my beloved cat, Olive got sick right before my wedding and needed medication/extra monitoring. If it wasnāt for Irene, I would have had to cancel my wedding events and my honeymoon. Irene provided such diligent care and compassion for my sweet girl. I felt a huge sense of peace knowing that she was there for my kitties. She always goes above and beyond in caring for our two cats, ensuring they received their daily medication without any issue. My shy boy cat warmed right up to her, which is so rare for him! Her communication is always top-notch; we received daily updates filled with videos and pictures that put our minds at ease while we were away. Irene was amazing! This was our first time using a cat sitter and she immediately put us at ease. She was very attentive to every detail and request, and was also amazing with our cats. She even got our shy cat out to play by the second day! On top of that, she is a vet tech and is super knowledgeable about monitoring and treating certain feline issues (e.g. one of our cats is an FIP survivor). Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Elk Grove cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Irene was an amazing cat sitter! She was extremely thorough in all the duties and detailed in her updates. I could tell she really cared about my cat - her updates made me feel a lot better leaving her for my trip.
