Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I’m currently mom to Lucy, a year-old calico rescued from the Downey shelter. Prior to Lucy I had two beautiful Persian cats, Sterling and Paddington, the most distinguished gentlemen you could ever meet. Sterling had polycystic kidney disease at age 7 and required subcutaneous fluids for three years. Paddington passed away of cancer in 2024. Chemotherapy gave him a few extra years, which I am grateful for. I love being a cat mom.
Are you usually available during holidays?
It depends, but yes, I am usually available for cat-sitting during the holidays. Definitely check my calendar to view my availability.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It’s really important to be respectful of the cat and give them their space when they communicate that. It’s also a good idea to sit quietly on the floor and give them time to come up and sniff you and accept you. Speaking quietly and preventing loud noises or sudden movements in their environment can help calm their anxieties too. Playing with them with their favorite toy is another way to boost their comfort level.

Charlotte has a wonderful way with cats! When we were roommates over 20 years ago, she told me she'd like to get a kitten. I said sure, but I hadn't been around cats, so I didn't know what to expect. She showed me what wonderful campions they are! After that wonderful little feline friend fell ill, I saw firsthand how she cared for him gently and added years to his life by administering IV fluids daily. She kept him happy and active in a situation where other pet owners may have given up. I cannot think of anyone more trustworthy to care for any pet!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
