I’m a kitty connoisseur, and cat behavior has always been a fascination for me. I definitely got it from my mom, and we both enjoy watching Jackson Galaxy on Animal Planet. I attended Helix High School and received my Bachelor’s from San Diego State University. I'm a licensed Real Estate Broker so yes, I frequent other folks homes on a regular basis, and I'm very familiar with safety protocols and securing homes before exiting - especially those with pets... My name is Destiny, I'm a San Diego native, and I’ve had kitties in my life since I was a toddler. I am the proud parent of Bing Clawsby, a rambunctious orange tabby who has been my constant companion since I adopted him from the SD Humane Society back in 2014.

As an agent, I am held to high ethical standards, having undergone trainings, passed a criminal background check, and fingerprinting. In my spare time I volunteer with Urban Angels in downtown, periodically for Meals on Wheels, and I also have served on the Board of Directors for several real estate volunteer associations.
I’m fairly flexible as long as I have some notice, I live and die by my Google Calendar and am used to frequently updating it with showings, appointments, etc. I live in Lake Murray, but like most agents, I’m always on the road, so happy to accommodate those outside of my immediate area. I lived in downtown San Diego for 8 years, have lived in Mission Hills and Mission Valley, very comfortable working those areas as well.
I’m very big on open communication and setting expectations early on - I operate on full transparency, so hopefully I’ll be a great fit for your furry loved ones!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been a cat whisperer for many years lol but I'm the go to for all of my friends and family.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Pets only have you... their short lives revolve around everything that we do. I hate the idea that cats are independent and uninterested... I've found them to be anything but. So providing some brief interaction helps bridge the gap while you're away from them, it's a comfort I'm happy to provide.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Bing Clawsby is my spunky orange tabby - he's definitely a menace but I absolutely love him.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It has to be a good fit for everyone, pet included. I've had a few friends in the past watch my kitty when I was away, and some people are just not cat people. They change the litter, refill water, and that's pretty much it. I personally prefer a cat sitter that sends photos and videos, sends considerate texts (looks like Bing isn't eating his wet food, is there anything I should try?), and treats my baby like their own. That's pretty much my approach - all kitties have such different personalities and needs, those should be addressed up front!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I love new cat parents, especially the ones that are open to input! I always recommend a Furbo (in home camera), lots of wet food, frequent cleaning of water fountains and plenty of play time if the kitty is younger... they need to get their energy out in healthy ways, otherwise they can totally tear up furniture. But really getting a handle on their preferences and seeing how we can accomodate the pet should be a high priority.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always encourage folks to have cameras, I personally have a ring and a Furbo. I keep everything locked up unless instructed not to. During a visit I might open a window for some ventilation, but make sure that it's closed upon departure. And if you're a cat owner like myself, blocking the door with your feet when entering and exiting is just a standard procedure. :)
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! My dad's side and mom's side are both here. I'm used to working major holidays, so I have no issue with cat sitting.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Wands & tunnels, coupled with a little cat tv on in the background (youtube, has zoomed in videos of birds and squirrels).
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I go at their speed and never force the interaction. I always try to put myself at their level, sitting on the ground offer toys and treats, offering my hand for them to sniff and rub up against. If they are not willing to engage that is entirely fine - I do not want to make any cat uncomfortable with forced coddling. Shy kitties sometimes benefit just from having a human present.

On time every day with superior video updates, even taking the time to set up cat TV for my boy so he didn’t get bored. This is for our second reservation with Destiny. Our reservation this time was for one day, and as with our previous reservation, Destiny had great interaction with our very shy cat. Watching videos and looking at photos Destiny sent me while we were away, Miku clearly remembers her and appreciates her visits. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

La Mesa cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Destiny has my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a reliable and respectful cat sitter, especially those with super shy kitties! From first contact on Meowtel through to the end of my reservation (and even after), Destiny went above and beyond, exceeding expectations! I’m a first-time cat parent and new to Meowtel. I lucked out with Destiny who was patient and understanding, explaining the process of meet & greet, navigating through the app, and setting up the reservation. Her profile also provided great advise about setting up cameras in our home so we can check in on our cat while we are away. Our meet and greet went well, and she and I vibed like we knew each other from a previous life 😂 After that, I wasn’t so anxious about leaving Miku as much as I was before. During the first day of our reservation, I was surprised to see a video of our cat playing and interacting with Destiny. She truly is a cat whisperer, since our cat usually hides and never comes out for visitors and new faces! Everyday that Destiny came to take care of Miku, she updated us with videos and pictures, which was helpful and the most reassuring to any pet owner while they are away. On the last evening prior to us returning, Destiny paid special attention to replenishing Miku’s water fountain and cleaning her litter box, which was truly appreciated. From our first experience with Destiny, I will definitely be looking for her for our future cat-sitting needs because she treated our cat and our home with respect, she executed her responsibilities reliably, with integrity and with honesty.

My Wife Lydia and I had a weekend trip planned and found Destiny on Meowtel. We reviewed her profile and decided to go with her to take care of our Baby Boy Dylan. He is 15 years old, and we wanted to make sure he had the greatest of care. Destiny surpassed our expectations and lived up to everything she explained she was going to do. Not only was she on time! she sent pictures of feeding and cleaning his cat box. changing his water and spoke softly to him. Dylan is a scaredy cat and will hide when someone comes over. Destiny also fed our Wild Doves as well the seed I left for them. Destiny gets a 5-star + rating, you could tell she Loves animals as much as we do.
