What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Gaining the trust of a cat, especially a kitty who is wary of strangers or grumpy. I find it to be so rewarding.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have 3 cats! Two are orange tabbies and one is a Tuxedo. I have Cheddar, Penny and Ralphie. Cheddar was separated too young from his mama, so I bottle fed him at first and he is very attached to me. Penny was an extremely sick kitten who almost didn’t make it, I had to syringe feed her for one week to keep her strength. Ralphie is still a kitten who is just a bundle of energy and snuggles.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I check that all windows and doors are secured shut so the kitties can’t escape. I double check that a cat has not darted out the door when I enter or leave, and make sure all closets/bathrooms are either closed or open (whatever the owner prefers) so that a cat is never trapped in a room without access to food, water and litter box.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes most holidays I stay local and am available. I do have family in New Jersey so I like to see them at Christmas time.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cats love mouse toys that squeak, and their floppy fish that moves when they touch it. They also have a bird toy that squeaks and flaps its wings when they play with it.

Kristen did an awesome job taking care of my two cats, Dante and Buttercup. Buttercup is a very shy 9-year-old female calico that did warm up to Kristen. That is high praise, believe me! Dante is a 20-year-old male that needs medical attention twice a day. He is sweet, but is high maintenance! I was very worried about leaving him for over a week. But, Kristen was so good with him, and so thoughtful when caring for him. When I got back from my honeymoon, he was good as new. I trust Kristen completely with my cats and look forward to working with her in the future. Five stars for Kristen!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Ladera Ranch cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
