I want to share an honest, balanced review so other pet parents can make an informed decision, especially if their pets have medical needs. During my booking, there was a serious medication error involving one of my cats, who is undergoing chemotherapy. Danae gave the chemo pill to my other cat, who is not sick with cancer. They do look similar, but certainly aren’t twins and I provided a very clear medication schedule as well as a one pager of general directions with cat photos). While this was extremely stressful for both me and my cat and ultimately ruined my trip, I do want to acknowledge that once the mistake was identified, she immediately told me what happened, contacted poison control and a veterinarian she knows, provided extra visits to monitor my cat, and refunded my money. I appreciate that she took responsibility and did the right things after the error occurred. She also took my cat to the ER (at my request) and paid for the visit. That said, there were also several issues that left me uncomfortable overall. When I asked to FaceTime to see my cat, I had to repeatedly ask for the blanket to be lifted so I could actually see her (this was right after she was poisoned so I wanted to see her face and basically had to beg her). I was also frustrated when my explicit instructions were challenged — for example, I clearly stated that my cats do not like wearing clothes, and when I asked for a bandana to be removed, I was told that “some kitties like it and it’s comforting,” despite the fact that I’ve known my cats for 13 years and this had already been discussed. I also had to tell her several times that my one cat can’t have dry food or treats even though I told her the day before I left AND it was printed out per the instructions. In addition, the litter box was not maintained as agreed. It was not scooped regularly and was left with very little litter, even though I had left a full bag out. To be fair, I didn’t explicitly say to refill it but I would assume a cat sitter would add more litter to the box given that 2 cats were using it and it visibly almost empty. While I appreciate the accountability shown after the medication mistake, the combination of the error, difficulty following instructions, and basic care oversights made this an extremely stressful experience for me and my cats. I would strongly recommend this sitter only for pets without complex medical needs, and with VERY clear, written expectations confirmed in advance (which I actually did myself but it didn’t seem to help in my case).

This was the second time we’ve used Danae to watch our kitties while traveling and she was just as great the second time around. We have 2 cats. Our big boy is a shy kitty who hides under the bed but Danae had him (literally) eating out of her hand. Our little girl is super friendly and I loved seeing the videos of her snuggling and playing with Danae. I can confirm that your babies will be well taken care of with Danae!

This was our first time working with Danae and we could not have asked for a better experience. She truly is a cat whisperer. We have two senior kitties who both require medication and one of them has a very regimented and extensive schedule. Right before we left for our trip, our girl Suzy developed some new challenges. Danae was incredibly kind and responsive with all of the last minute changes, including picking Suzy up from the vet and learning her new medication routine, which even included administering subcutaneous fluids. Honestly, I am not sure we would have been able to go on our trip without the trust we had in Danae to care for our babies. She kept us updated with constant communication, went out of her way to make sure the cats were comfortable, and alleviated so much stress for us. I highly recommend Danae to anyone in need of a cat sitter, especially if your pets require medication or have emotional or separation anxiety. She has such a natural way with animals and we could not be more grateful.

I was extremely nervous leaving my Precious home with someone I didn't know. This was the first time I've had to do that. I read the profiles of several cat sitters, and I selected Danae. Danae was perfect fit for us. I was able to select Danae and get a confirmation back right away notifying me that Danae had accepted my request for her services. Within a day, Danae and I arranged for our meeting & greet. Everything went smoothly and at warp speed as I had needed. I felt much more confident leaving Precious in the loving care of Danae. Every single day I was away, I got a text report, pictures and/or videos from Danae. My Precious hides under the bed and sofa, as she is easily frightened. Danae made such a beautiful effort in finding her and doing things to lessen her fear. On the last day, Danae was able to make Precious feel safe enough to come 3/4 of the way out from under the sofa to play. I could write a book on the wonders of Danae, but suffice it to say, my Precious and I are forever grateful, and now true fans of Danae. It is so very clear that this isn't just a job to Danae, it is her calling. I trusted my Precious to the care of Danae, and that is one of the best decisions I've ever made!

Danae took great care of our cat Dustin (and my box turtle too!) during the meet and greet, she asked thoughtful questions to get to know Dustin and our routines. she communicated clearly and sent us photos and updates each time. Dustin really liked her!

Danae happily cleaned up barf, brought in my Chewy package, and gave my guys love & care.

I have lived with kitties for 20 years now, and Danae is hands down the best kitty sitter I've met! My boys are in LOVE with her!! I have one cat on meds and special food, and one cat who is very shy, and she handled both like a champ. Some of my friends are jealous that my shy cat likes a woman they *just* met more than they like them, despite the fact they have known him for years (and tried to win him over!) It was also a little stressful leaving home during these crazy COVID times, and Danae made that as easy as possible, even disinfecting areas she touched before I returned home. I wish I could travel more - as I feel better about leaving my cats now than I ever have.

Danae was great with our two cats, including dealing with oral medications. She did a thorough visit before our trip and provided charming pics and videos daily. Plus, she was very helpful in helping sort out a remote computer access problem.We will definitely call on her again if our neighbor cat-carer is unavailable.

Danae was AMAZING! Highly recommend and will be using her again. We have three cats that needed quite a bit of attention (wet food twice a day, asthma inhaler for one, monitoring limp and possibly pain medicine administration on another) and Danae was ready to do any and all that was needed. Kept us updated during each visit with photos and videos and brought them toys on her own to keep them entertained. Even though this was the longest we had been away from them (10 days) we felt very safe with them in Danae's capable hands.

This was my first time trying out Meowtel and I feel lucky that I found Danae. She was really great with Kitty who is a 20 year old cat with health problems. I needed her visits at specific times to feed him prescription cat food with a probiotic and she was reliable and attentive. She provided daily updates with texts and photos per my request, and gave him lots of cuddles and love while we were away. Aside from that, we came home to a clean litter box and a happy cat. We will definitely contact her the next time we are in need of a cat sitter for Kitty.

Danae was fantastic with my kittens. Not only did she take care of their litter box and food/water, she took the time to really get to know their likes/dislikes. They're fed at the appointed times, the litter boxes are immaculate when I return, and while I'm away she sends pics & videos of her spending time with them & playing with them. Danae was a great cat & bunny sitter! I have 5 cats and 3 bunnies, a lot of animals to keep track of! Each cat has unique needs and instructions which were taken care of efficiently. Danae has a lot of love for animals, I think my animals were perfectly content with her and didn't miss me one bit. Actually one cat missed me thank goodness but the rest were unusually indifferent upon my arrival home which is great I guess. Most important they didn't pee inappropriately in my house for leaving them again, my biggest concern. So happy about that.
