What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most is completely rooted in the fact that I'm a cat mom myself. I know that feeling—the mix of excitement for a trip and that little knot of worry about your furry kid. Because I get it, the most rewarding part for me is the instant trust I establish. It's not just a job; it's caring for someone's cherished family member. I love sending those photo updates because I know exactly how much it means to see your baby happy and safe. For those few days, I get to be the loving stand-in, and there’s no better feeling than knowing I’ve helped another cat parent relax and enjoy their time away.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Mother to 2 fur babies who are my whole world, grey tabby (Mochi) whom I rescued from the streets during the covid19 pandemic and my white baby (Miso) was gifted to me by a family friend. Both have opposite personalities and make my days brighter. My mochi is super talkative, loves to be by my side when making dinner or just watching my favorite tv show, hates to be picked up but will snuggle with me when in the mood. My baby miso is the quiet and relaxed one, will nap all day and loves to be on his own, enjoys play-time and sleeping with me at night.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Welcoming someone new to care for your cherished family member is a big decision, and I take that trust seriously. That's why we always begin with a free meet and greet right in your home. This is a relaxed time for me to bond with your cat and for you to walk me through their daily rhythm, favorite toys, and any special needs. Once we've established we're a purr-fect fit, I'll gather all the essentials, including your vet's details. While you're away, expect daily photo updates and little stories so you can relax knowing your beloved cat is happy, safe, and soaking up all the cuddles!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My care philosophy centers on patience and respect. I'll never force an interaction, instead allowing your cat to approach me completely on their own terms. I like to gently get down to their level, so I'm not intimidating, and quietly create a safe, stress-free haven for them. This means making sure all their essentials are perfectly in place—fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and familiar toys—along with some comforting "safe spots" like a cozy cardboard box or a covered bed where they can happily retreat. We'll start building our bond with fun, interactive play from a distance, giving them space while letting their curiosity lead the way.
