I grew up with cats in the home and love to find their favorite places to be scratched and toys to play with, often encouraging jumping and foraging. I welcome every cat interaction with love and patience as they are the best companion. Earning their trust is always my goal and finding the right pace is important. As a cat mom, I understand how nerve racking it can be to not recieve updates or enough photos or know if someone has followed your instructions the way you want so I try my best to alleviate that worry!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting reservation involved a large orange Cat named Calcifer. He’s very particular about his food, toys and where he likes to be scratched. His owner gave the okay on him being picked up by me and he stayed on my chest for the whole vist (45 minutes). She was extremely surprised and said that he normally jumps down after a few minutes and she’d love to know how I convinced him to stay.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Her name is Chocolate and she is the smartest kitty ever. She’s learned many tricks like sitting, high fiving, climbing on command and touching her nose to my hand wherever I place it. She is a Chantilly Tiffany and super people oriented. She coos like a pigeon and loves to lay on top of me.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I recommend once a day with no preference as this provides a lot of flexibility. I recommend booking 45 minutes for cats that are more social and 20 minutes for cats that only need their necessities met like litter changing and feeding.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I coordinate through the app and give them my number. From there we plan on a time to meet their cat/s and give the run down on what their process is like and keys if there are any. Then we talk about any expectations and how much contact they’d like. Often I’ll send a video and maybe some photos per visit and any other updates for the house and the cat/s.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
To ensure the saftey and security of the house I follow all rules given to a T. Before entering any entrances I always open the door slightly to make sure no cats ca bolt. I always return keys to pick boxes and scramble the code to ensure no one else can get in. Lastly I always check in about my departure so they know the house and cat are secure.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am usually available during the holidays and will often have availability due to working in schools and with the city’s parks and rec department.

Muwazu has cared for my cat on many occasions for the past year and a half, and I highly recommend her! She is excellent at maintaining clear and consistent communication; I receive constant updates and photos from her visits with him. My cat is very picky about certain things, but Muwazu has patiently learned his quirks and formed such a great bond with him. When she has come over while I'm home, my cat will jump out of my lap to run to greet her! I have also met Muwazu's cat, who is clearly extremely well cared for, and is even clicker trained! All in all, Muwazu is an excellent cat sitter, and I will continue going to her to care for my little guy.

I’d say Muwazu is a great cat sitter because she is experienced and cats seem comfortable around her. She is a great cat owner in her own time and is on top of grooming, vet visits, and feeding schedules. She is thorough and reliable and communicative as well and will send updates and photos during her process. I felt safe leaving my pet with her and I would gladly book her again for my next trip!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Oakland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
