I’ve been cat sitting for years and one of my favorite things is discovering each cat’s unique way of being. Some warm up instantly and are in my lap purring within minutes, while others take their time, and might be hiding or staring at me from across the room while they decide if I’m trustworthy... Hi there! I’m Anna, a proud cat mama to two fur babies who completely run my life (and I wouldn’t have it any other way). I know how deeply we love our cats and how hard it can be to leave them, which is why I treat every cat I care for with the same love and attention I give my own.
I’ve been cat sitting for years and one of my favorite things is discovering each cat’s unique way of being. Some warm up instantly and are in my lap purring within minutes, while others take their time, and might be hiding or staring at me from across the room while they decide if I’m trustworthy. No matter where your cat falls on the spectrum, I’ll be patient, calm, and happy to meet them exactly where they’re comfortable.
When I visit, I will make sure your cats get the care, play, and affection they deserve (as desired), whether that’s chasing toys, cuddling, or simply enjoying the same room. And because I know how nice it can be to see your cat while you’re away, I’ll always be sure to send plenty of photos and videos so you can be reassured knowing they’re happy and cared for.
All this to say: I really love cats! Connecting with them, whether through nose boops, a slow blink, or a full on cuddle/purr session, is what fills me up. I can’t wait to meet your kitties and give them all the love while you’re away.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! My sweet kitties are Harley (grey) and Baxter (orange). Harley came into my life first at 6 months old, almost 16 years ago. He was a little anxious and not very playful for a long time until 7 years ago, when Baxter joined our family and changed everything. Baxter is about 11 now and came from a hoarding situation with many other cats. Thanks to Baxter’s insistence on being friends, a whole new side of Harley’s personality emerged. They play together every day and are both the sweetest, most affectionate cats. I feel incredibly lucky to share my life with them. Being a cat parent to these two is a big reason why I love caring for other cats too!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I know how personal it feels to leave your cat in the care of someone else. It’s a sensitive thing. But when you know what you’re looking for, and you find a sitter who genuinely loves cats, is patient, and believes in meeting your cat where they are, it could allow for the makings of a really great fit. And I also fully support cat parents who decide another option is better. This is about your needs just as much as your cat’s. At the end of the day, it’s about building a relationship grounded in trust and care, so everyone feels comfortable and safe.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
First off, I just want to share some love for all the timid and anxious cats out there who are just doing their best. I can imagine how sensitive they may feel, and I take extra care to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I speak in soft tones, move slowly, give them plenty of space, and leave treats for them when appropriate. I believe in meeting them exactly where they’re at with their needs and will never force an interaction. I also like to follow any tips or routines the cat parents suggest, because they know their cat best. My goal is always the same, to make sure these sweet kitties feel respected, cared for, and as comfortable as possible while their people are away.

I cannot give six stars? Oh well, we will settle for 5. Anna took care of my four cat over a long weekend and did a fantastic job. She is a natural with cats. All of them, including the shy one took to her like catnip. But what I most appreciate is Anna's attention to detail. She managed my home security system, dealt with the confusion of my house and my litter robot. So happy to see the food station and litter boxes CLEANER than my day to day life. Anna made me feel secure while I could enjoy my weekend away. BTW, she's also a great photographer! She sent me a couple precious pix of my kitties that I love.

I’m so glad I booked Anna to watch my cat. During our meet and greet, she asked lots of questions and took notes. You could tell she genuinely was interested in my cat and doing what she could to keep him happy and unstressed during our trip. My partner and I felt very comfortable having her in our home. She also sent great reports, photos, and videos after every visit. Overall I would definitely recommend her as a cat sitter and I would be more than happy to book her again.

Anna was excellent. At our first meeting she took notes, asked questions, and is generally a delightful person. My cats are very nervous around new people, yet by the 2nd and third days they were already coming out for pets and play. I received plenty of communication, photos and videos, and all the dishes were cleaned, cat food containers rinsed before being disposed of, etc. I’ll definitely call on Anna again.

Tyler is of discerning taste and took to Anna while I was away. It was so much easier to enjoy my time out of the country knowing both my little ones were being checked on and cared for by someone who was doing it because she actually likes it and liked them. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Oakland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
