I understand what a privilege it is to be allowed into somebody’s home and be trusted with their animals. It... I am a former vet tech and pet sitter. I also have over 20 years of rescue and rehabilitation for volunteering with animals. I have two fur baby boys and I feed several strays a day. Cats , well all pets, are family members. And you can’t convince me otherwise.😽.
I understand what a privilege it is to be allowed into somebody’s home and be trusted with their animals. It can be scary, and anxiety filling when you’re leaving your babies behind. But in my hands, I promise you they will get so much loving attention and as many kisses as they allow 💕 Every friend, date or coworker uses “animal lover” to describe me. I truly was just born that way. I hope to meet your fur babies soon and make new friends with them, if they’re okay with that 🌈

Learning to communicate and discovering the true personality of the cat I’m caring for.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
There was a cat who liked to play basketball with little wadded up pieces of paper. We would do it for half an hour straight each day. Twice a day. He was fascinating.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two. Griffey and Bumblebee . I also feed stray/feral cats daily
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Always go with your gut. Meet them in person and let your cat tell you if they are going to work out or not.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Listening to what they tell me, the cats needs are. Understanding if the cat wants attention or to be left alone.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Following all the directions that the parent has told me. Leave nothing up to chance. Check everything twice before leaving.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. I actually prefer to work holidays. My family does not live locally.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cat loves to play with the little plastic bracelets from the 80s. So any form of fetch is my favorite.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Usually catnip or treats. Sometimes just letting the cat be on his/her own is the best way to handle that situation.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Palm Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Laura was fantastic!! I knew from meeting her that we were not going to have to worry at all about our babies while gone for a week, with their medications and special diets needs. Her daily messages were always so sweet and fun, and we enjoyed seeing photos every night in our hotel when back from outings. We would definitely trust Laura again any time with our sweet cats! Thank you Laura and Meowtel so much...and for the lovely flowers when we lost our sick Bixby a week before our trip. It was so so hard and that thoughtful gesture was very appreciated.

I had to travel abroad and Laura made sure she followed all my instructions for my 3 senior cats. She was consistent, patient, friendly and made sure to give my old cats the medication and care necessary for me to feel confident to leave them in her care for almost two weeks. I have not traveled often bc they need good reliable care and Laura was STELLAR in accomplishing that task. I have no doubt I would hire her again. I very reluctantly went on a trip over the weekend and I was a nervous wreck about leaving my kitty alone. Laura was amazing, though, and provided excellent care for my senior baby. She was prompt, incredibly thoughtful and gave thorough updates along with photos and videos. I don’t plan on leaving again for a good, LONG time but if I do, I will 100% be requesting her services again.
