What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve pet sat scaredy cats, cats that scratch on my legs while I’m scooping the litter box, cats that try to escape and even a cat that lived in a hotel temporarily. I’ve been a professional cat sitter since 2018.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love it when a cat feels comfortable around me and let’s me pet them or sits on my lap
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite reservation is an overnight reservation for my client who has two cats. One of the cats sits in my lap in the evening while I watch tv and sleeps on my bed at night.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My last cat passed away and it took me a while to be ready for another cat. I’m between cats right now but I’m doing my research so I can decide what kind of cat I want and what gender. I know I want an adult cat. I was supposed to get someone’s garage cat but they couldn’t catch her so it fell through
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
To find the best sitters, look for repeat clients, good reviews and how long they have been pet sitting. Check out the badges on their profile
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I print out the meet and greet list on the Meowtel site and take it with me to the reservation so that I can gather all the details that I need. I also let the cats sniff me and hopefully they’ll let me pet them.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I watch the cats as I’m coming in and leaving and I hold my purse down toward the bottom of the door in case they try to sneak out
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, working holidays is not a problem. I’m usually working Thanksgiving and Christmas. I do charge a 20% holiday fee, like most sitters.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I like the fishing pole toy. I like to watch the cats catch the toy, especially if they jump for it.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give them their space so they don’t feel threatened. I move slowly around them while quietly talking to them

Additionally, she had no issues using our security system & came by 2x before so we got every detail covered.. Every day we got great updates & photos so we knew everything was going ok. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- February 13-19: Presidents Day

- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Redondo Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
