What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Been cat sitting for 3 years now, usually 1-3 hour visits depending on the cats needs and have done overnights before. I also have two cats of my own that I care for

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting new kitties and getting to see their different personalities. Playing with them is always fun and rewarding. Also getting to share treats and cuddles if the cat allows it.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Favorite time cat sitting was when my friend was abroad for 2 weeks and her cat Boris(who is normally a very scaredy cat) finally warmed up to me and hopped in my lap and purred and cuddled with me for an hour. He doesn’t like sudden movements so we just sat still together and enjoyed each other’s company. During that time period we would also play fetch and he could go crazy for a feather toy, just jumping around everywhere. He also always watched me clean his box which I thought was hilarious.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My chocolate Siamese cat’s name is Felix Da Housecat and my grey tabby cat’s name is Small Cat. She used to be the smallest cat in the house and her nickname just stuck.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice would be to set up a meeting time first for the owner and the cat to make sure it’d be a good fit for everyone. And to leave clear instructions on the type of care a client needs for their kitty.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to set up a meeting first and get to know the cat parent and the cat and make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. I also like to have a conversation to make sure I understand exactly what the cats needs are and feeding schedule.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure all the doors and windows are secure so that the cat doesn’t accidentally get out or try to escape. Make sure there’s no debris that could be harmful lying around like plastic etc.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I leave them alone and let them come to me when they feel comfortable. I try not to make any sudden movements or loud noises. I also try to entice them with treats to slowly build trust.

She was so great! Our cats can be clingy and the oldest one gets ill when my husband isn’t home. Maria took her time with them and made sure they were happy. Our middle cat loves cuddles and Maria gave her plenty of attention. She even cleaned up their hairballs and throw up(gross I know) I’d love to have her back again! Complete confidence in this cat whisperer!

Marieelena has cared for my senior special needs cat for 5 years. He requires special feeding as well as constant emotional support, and she has been able to provide that. My cat also loves her and she sends me pictures of him snuggling with her while I am away, and provides daily updates. She is great at following special need instructions. Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
