What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been doing this for a decade and longer. I also had my own cats - the oldest is over 12yo. I have references to share -
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I absolutely adore cats and I have a deep understanding of them. I can read their body language, I know how to build their trust and there is nothing more rewarding than getting their love
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
That was with Aya - a small size adult female cat, very shy and reserved. She would not even show her little face when I would walk in the house - I was going to take care of her for two weeks - Well, we ended up bonding so well in just 2 visits that for the next days she would not leave my lap and get clingy when I had to leave..
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Leona and Miles - short hair tabbies, grey/brown and respectively orange. Leona is 12yo and Miles is 3yo, however - like a true orange boy, he still acts like a crazy kitten.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I could be - however I would need more advance notice to plan drop-ins during holidays. But happy to help -
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With patience - I just sit on the floor and wait for the cat to approach, to smell me, to figure out if and when they feel comfortable to come around. Of course, with a young cat I would start to play with and see if that distraction will break the anxiousness

Christina was great with our two cats! Less than a week before our vacation one of our cats injured her paw, so she was prescribed medication. I notified Cristina when we found out about the paw injury and she got back to us quickly. Our cat is not compliant with medication (our cat slapped the pill dispenser out of the vet tech's hand when the vet tech tried to give her medicine). We told Cristina to try her best with the medication (it was not a life or death medication). Even though our cat was reluctant Cristina was able to give half the dose with a pill pocket she had. This was impressive considering our cat's refusal to take the medication. While juggling a last minute cat injury, she was able to check in on our other cat and give him very essential cuddles and playtime. Overall, Cristina did a lot of heavy lifting for us taking care of the cats and I would highly recommend her.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
