I have been a professional cat sitter for about five years. I was an office worker for 30 years and retired.
I have a personal relationship with all of my clients and their pets and give the cats the attention they need and treat them as i... I have had cats my entire life. I currently have two fur babies. I adore them. I feel such a connection to my cats. The cat in my profile picture is my cat Milo.

I live in Clairemont and I'm pretty flexible as to where I will go for visits. Clairemont, Tierrasanta, Serra Mesa, Mira Mesa are just a few of the areas I will travel to. I'm willing to travel farther if my schedule allows.
I am Covid-19 vaccinated and follow protocols such as frequent hand washing and wearing a mask in public.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have had cats my whole life and have never been without a couple kitties. I've been professionally sitting for 6 1/2 years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
All the different personalities of kitties and the affection
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had a client who I've taken care of her cat for a few years. Her cat would never let me pet her but the last time, she came out for pets!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two. Hannah is 20 and Milo is 15
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Look for someone who loves cats and has patience.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
If they went to meet, I will go over. Sometimes people would rather just talk on the phone. I ask them questions about their cat(s) personality, feeding instructions, find out if their cat is shy or playful. I like to find out if their cat might try to run out when I open the door. Does the cat(s) prefer certain pets, have any areas they don't want you to touch, etc.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
When I first enter, I make sure the pet is not waiting at the door and make sure the door is shut. When I leave I make sure the pet is in sight or I know exactly where they are when I leave and that the door is secured.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I am available all holidays.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Cat Dancer. Honestly most cats love. Not really great if the cat likes to bite on wires though. Also any little fishing toy.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I usually will quietly do what I need to do like feeding and litter box care, and then I will sit quietly and let the kitty come to me if they desire to do so. No fast movements and no forcing interaction.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
