Hi! My name is Sharna and I am an avid cat lover of about 30 years! I am familiar with the hard work that comes with caring for a cat. From cleaning litter pans for 4 indoor cats at age 7 to navigating the vet care system in my 20's with my two current kitties, I have experienced many situations and feel confident in my cat care skills.

When it comes to meeting new cats, every kitty is different and it's so important for me to adapt to each cat. I really love to take time to get to know the cat, focus on building trust with them on their timeline and making sure I am a safe calm space for them... Hi! I have been fortunate enough to connect with many shy and withdrawn cats right from the start. I love to challenge the stereotype that cats are independent and aloof, as a lot of cats are social and adore receiving attention (on their terms) from people.

After graduating with my masters in the healthcare industry, I adopted a beautiful tabby cat named Max from the Humane Society. Four years later I adopted a second cat, a little tuxedo named Gracie, who has become such a sibling to Max. Medication skill-wise, Max, requires a pill each night, so I have become pretty good at pilling him through a positive reinforcement behavioral training method.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I truly love and enjoy building relationships with other cats and all the fun playtimes and cute snuggles that come with this.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I have continuously been a colleague's cat sitter for over 6 years and her two kitties are so precious! One of them is usually shy but warmed up to me almost immediately. I found their favorite toys and made sure to snap adorable photos and videos of the kitties daily to send to my colleague. I will cat sit them 3-4 times per year and look forward to every visit with them.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love finding interactive cat toys such as "da bird" and any long string toys that I can run around the house with to get the cats moving.

It was so smooth and I knew Momo was so well taken care of, even though this was Sharna's first time caring for her. She walked right up, and Sharna was very intuitive to her grooming and play needs around mealtime. She also followed instructions well and is very sweet and organized! Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
