Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two beautiful kitties! One is a mischievous tortie and another a black goddess. Their names are Tierra and Cielo.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always make sure I close and lock the doors after I come into a home. When I come in I usually open the door just a crack and block it with my body in case a cat is near the entrance or tries to dash out the door. Before I leave I triple check where the cats are to be absolutely sure they don’t follow me out. I also activate the resident’s alarm system if they have one per their instructions. If there are large packages outside the door, I often either lock the kitties in a room with treats so I can freely open the door wide and give myself time to bring the package inside without the cats getting out. I will immediately call 911 and inform the cat parents if there is an emergency and take the cats out in their carriers.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I’m available on holidays including Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years’ Eve and Day, Fourth of July, Easter, etc.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

The number one rule of paws for me is to let the shy or distressed kitty come introduce himself in his own time and give him space. I’ll come in very quietly and carefully, using a soft voice, wary of my body so as to not startle them with sudden movements or sounds. If he peeks at the stranger in his house, I might greet him in a whisper, and then make my way slowly in another direction so that he doesn’t perceive me as a predator. After finishing up with the cats’ chores I will find a place to simply sit peacefully. More often than not, the kitty will come out of hiding to sniff and investigate. I’ll resist the temptation to try petting him and look at something else. The kitty may sniff me again and I’ll present my finger, hand, and see if he’ll welcome gradual petting.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
