I have over 16 years worth of experience in the animal care field, working in veterinary clinics, animal shelters and pet sitting. I do not discriminate against size, breed, or age: I get to meet some pretty great felines every year!

I am familiar with feline behavior and my top priority is keeping your cat comfortable. I will be as patient as any shy cat needs, even if that means they want nothing to do with me. I would rather they are not stressed than attempt to force any unwanted interaction on them... I am familiar with feline behavior and my top priority is keeping your cat comfortable. I will be as patient as any shy cat needs, even if that means they want nothing to do with me. I would rather they are not stressed than attempt to force any unwanted interaction on them. I am used to picky eaters, special diets, and administering medication (oral, topical and injections) so no need is too much for me.

Having worked in the animal care field, I can recognize an emergency, so (god forbid) if anything were to happen, I will act calmly and quickly. I just ask that your kitty’s profile is up to date with all the details I will need so I am fully prepared. I look forward to making sure that you are at ease while you are away, because your furbaby will be in care you can trust!

Since I've left the animal care field as my main career path, I have found a fully remote position that I love! It makes it so easy to hang out with kitties during the day while I'm working on my laptop, with a free lap for cuddles. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

16+ years. While working in multiple animal shelters, I would also foster 'shelter cats and kittens' that were underage or ill, nursing them back to wellness.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a 15 year old tuxedo cat named Missy. She has been with me through multiple relationships, several moves to different states, sharing her home with foster cats and dogs and is the most unique, resilient and relaxed kitty. She is spoiled by my fiancée and always taken care of when I'm at sits.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Trust your gut when it comes to hiring someone to care for your beloved cat! If it doesn't feel right, that doesn't mean the sitter is a bad person, it just means that it's not a good fit for you, and that is okay. You should feel comfortable and confident in the sitter you hire, because that will give you peace while you are away, and that is what every sitter wants to provide for you!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give timid or anxious cats time and space. I keep the environment calm and soothing, and use a very soft and slow voice. I sit still to allow the cats to feel that they have the upper hand and can come up to explore me if they feel comfortable enough to do so. I will leave treats or their favorite toy nearby to entice them to come near. I will not force them into a corner or reach for them under a bed if they are not yet comfortable to come out. I want them to feel that they do have a safe space while a stranger (at first) is in their home.

Hannah was great. I appreciated that she let me know when she arrived and she sent me photos of how Benji was doing. She helped to ensure he was eating his wet food by putting it on a plate which worked great. Benji was happy and satisfied upon my return and I know they had a great time together.

Hannah was so great with our cats! Even our shy boy came out when she was there, and we loved the photos she took of both cats with every visit! Her communication throughout our trip was excellent, and her responses when we had questions were quick. Hannah was exceptional to work with. She took great care of Inky and Sox while we were travelling and made sure we were kept apprised of how they were doing each time she visited. We were out of town and the friend we had scheduled to check in on our cats was unexpectedly tied up and unable to do so. We considered cutting our trip short and coming home, but first checked in "last minute" with Hannah to see if she could help out. She was indeed available and took care of everything! We were so relieved - and enjoyed the rest of our time away. The cats were happy and healthy once we returned home!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
