Cat Sitting in Vista, CA

My name is Helen and I have been a cat mom to my fur baby Puma since 2008. She’s a senior kitty now at 18! I have always loved cats (had two growing up) and having my own was a dream come true. She’s a senior kitty now at 18! I have always loved cats (had two growing up) and having my own was a dream come true. I have traded cat sitting with friends for many years and finally decided I should turn it into a side hustle! In her old age Puma suffers from seizures and has to have oral liquid medicine 3x a day so I have experience with meds and know the importance of providing consistent loving care. I work from home and have the flexibility to care for your kitties on whatever schedule is needed (as long as I still get home to give my own kitty her meds of course!). I’m looking forward to building friendships with more kitties and their humans in North County! I am based in Vista in 92081 but happy to travel.

Learn More About Helen

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

My favorite part about cat sitting is the cats! They have always been my favorite animal and I love their sassy and independent personalities. If my kitty didn’t dislike other cats I would probably have so many cats!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one kitty named Puma. I would have more except Puma doesn’t like other kitties so we are a solo kitty household! She is 18 now and we are giving her the most love we can in her senior years.

What is your favorite cat toy?

This is a trick question because it totally depends on what the cat likes! I have what I call the “rainbow string” and that is a favorite because it doesn’t get caught on claws too easily and it is fun to play with on floors, sofas, or beds. I’m careful with any toys involving feathers because so many kitties like to eat them! If I play with a laser pointer I always make sure to give lots of positive reinforcement and treats when we are done so the cat feels like they “caught” it.

Helen was great with my cat, Marcy! Marcy seemed like she was in a much happier state when I came back compared to how she usually is after I go on trips. I think Marcy loved the attention and care. Helen seems totally trustworthy, and I’d definitely book with her again!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Vista cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
