I brought a kitten home once telling my parents I won her at a school carnival! 😁 But my deep love and affection for cats developed once I was married and we got our first cat and we have had cats ever since. We drove from the east coast with our cats 28 years ago!
I have had cats that needed all sorts of medical care and treatments. As a cat mom myself, I know firsthand the stress of trusting someone to take care of your sweet kitty/kitties - especially when your cat is a senior kitty and not happy with change.
I know cats can be shy and not every cat will be excited to see me instead of their person at first. I am very patient and happy to let them accept me on their terms. I never want to be the cause for stress in any cat and would never try to force interaction if they are not feeling it.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have taken care of cats for friends and family for many years, but only recently decided to cat sit for other kitties outside my friends and family base.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love making new cat friends and also am happy to be able to take the stress off of the kitty parent when they need to travel for work or fun.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I am the lucky mom to black panther Rocky and tuxedo Violet. They are 12 year old litter mates . Violet was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, so I am learning how to treat her with transdermal medicine to avoid added stress for her.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It’s crucial to do a meet and greet and ask questions. It’s important to feel completely comfortable with the person who will be taking care of your kitty.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I will follow the instructions provided to me by the cat parent to ensure both cat and home are safe and secure.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am normally available during the holidays. It’s so stressful traveling right now with all the crowds and cancelled flights that I stay close to home.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
