I am patient, attentive, and really try to tune into each individual cat's personality. I respect whatever makes them feel safe. I am especially good with shy, senior, and cats that need someone gentle and predictible. I am also certified in pet CPR/... Hi there! I am Heather, a lifelong cat mom, registered Home Care Aide (HCA) with a professional background in caregiving. Caring for living beings (with a little favortism toward cats) is second nature to me and something I have done for years.
I am patient, attentive, and really try to tune into each individual cat's personality. I respect whatever makes them feel safe. I am especially good with shy, senior, and cats that need someone gentle and predictible. I am also certified in pet CPR/First Aid.
Because of my training, I am comfortable with medication routines, special diets, mobility issues, and any other special needs that your cat might have. I ensure that each cat receives plenty of affection, playtime, and a calm environment. I will happily send photo updates, little notes, and even FaceTime if you or they are having seperation anxiety.
My goal is to keep your kitty comfortable, loved, and a little spoiled whle you're away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've lived with cats my entire life and have been the go-to cat sitter for friends, neighbors, and family for years. Between caring for my own cats and stepping in for people when they travel, I've had hands on experience with all kinds of cat personalities - from sassy and bold to anxious and timid. I have also fostered and adopted out kittens and cats. I live in a very close knt complex and consider all the kitties family. Professionally, I've been caring for pets alongside my caregiving work for several years, and I'm trained in Pet CPR/First Aid. I am also a registerd Home Care Aide, so routines and special needs are second nature to me. I have had cats that required medication schedules, special diets, mobility issues, and keeping cats calm and happy while their humans are away is my specility.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
My favorite part of cat sitting is getting to know each cat's personality and earning their trust and affection. I love them all, from the low key lap sitters to the funny little ones who are full of energy. I love gaining a cat's trust and think its such an honor when they fnally accept you as a friend. I also really love taking their pictures and capturing their little moods and activities. That is one of my favorite parts of day.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats at home, one named Figuro (Fig, Fig Newton, Figaro Lingonberry, Sir Fig). He is 3 years old, going on 4 and was a rescue cat. He is a very handsome tuxedo cat (and he knows it). He is also the LOUDEST cat I have ever known, and does not let us forget about him for an instant. OUr newest addition is a sweet little girl, Kiki (Miss K, Kikipants, Babygirl). She is 9m old striped tabby and was rescued from a friends backyard. She is a sweet baby, and a little skittish around new people but the BEST companion for Figaro. They love each other so much. My past kitties have included a introverted black cat to a orange tabby with Zoomie energy. I have owned and fostered many cats over the years and they have brought so much joy.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am a mom and student and I have been local during the holidays for the last few years and plan on being available for all holidays this year.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience, respect for their space, slow movements, letting the cat set the pace. I never force a cat to interact with me more than they are comfortable, and I have even sat for cats I only saw through peeking out under the bed.

Heather was fabulous! She went above and beyond. My air conditioning broke just before my trip and then there was a historic heat wave. Heather made an extra visit to make sure my kitties were ok, and she opened and closed the windows as needed for maximum temperature relief. I have three cats with very distinct personalities and one of them is quite scared of new people, but Heather has made great progress with him very quickly. I just can’t say enough good things about Heather. I hope she’s available the next time I need her.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Pedro cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
