Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two incredibly fluffy, sweet boys; bonded brothers. Dexter is a long-haired black & white tuxedo, a big lovable goof and insatiable for cuddles. Laszlo is a medium-haired grey tabby, an independent boy king with a killer instinct, but also loves cuddles (on his terms).
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It’s always a good sign when someone willing to stop by for a meet & greet. I find it’s best to start getting acquainted with kitty while their parent is still there and can show me all their typical hiding places, and get me up to speed with where their food, supplies, and toys are located. Definitely keep their crate/carrier handy and leave me their veterinary contact on the off chance there’s an emergency and I’m unable to get ahold of you!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I NEVER force it! Cats need to feel safe and secure in their environment, and if that means hiding under the bed for the first couple days I’m there, I’ll respect their space. Over time, I find that repeated visits with calm, submissive energy will draw them out. Scent is a crucial sense for cats, and I sometimes will leave a small article of clothing/some other personal belonging for them to inspect and get acquainted with my smell (and realize my smell always means food is coming!). If your anxious kitty will need any sort of medication or veterinary attention while you’re away, I’ll always suggest having me come by and meet them before you leave town, to begin the acquaintance process early.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our cat sitter Lauren! She took care of our four cats for two full weeks while we were on vacation, and she was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She was incredibly reliable, punctual, and communicative. Every single time she visited, she sent us photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious from the pictures—and from how content everyone was when we returned—that our cats felt completely comfortable, safe, and well cared for with her. We came home to four happy cats and a clean, well-cared-for house, which was such a wonderful feeling after being gone for so long. She even went above and beyond by watering our plants, which we really appreciated. Finding someone you can completely trust with both your pets and your home is priceless, and we absolutely felt that way with her. She is dependable, thoughtful, attentive, and clearly genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. We would 100% hire her again and recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Five stars all the way!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
