I love all cats but senior cats have a special place in my heart. I have successfully gotten... I adopted my first two kittens in 2004 and added two more cats a few years later. I had my "core 4" for about a decade. Once I lost my third cat (2021), I began fostering for a local cat rescue and have been fostering ever since.
I love all cats but senior cats have a special place in my heart. I have successfully gotten 4 cats adopted (3 senior cats and 1 adult who was returned to the rescue after being adopted as a kitten), and have been a fospice (foster hospice) home for 2 senior cats. I've fostered a blind cat as well as a cat who was blind and deaf. Now that my cats are all gone, I love being a safe place for a cat from a shelter.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love being able to put cat parents at ease knowing their cats are in good hands while they are away from home. I also love helping cats feel safe while there is a change in their routine. Cats are sensitive to change, and most like routine, so I strive to keep their routine as normal as possible.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I adopted 2 kittens (Ariel and A-Rod) in 2004, shortly after my mom died. They were bonded and the shelter didn't want to separate them (they were the last of their litter). I actually hadn't planned on adopting a cat but I went with my sister after work one day. I kept being drawn to them and felt it was my mom's way of telling me I should adopt them. A few years later, 2 more cats were rehomed to me (first Rora, then Jetty) and I had my core 4 for almost a decade.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to meet with a new cat parent in their home so they can give me an overview of what they do (when and what the cat typically eats, are they allowed treats) as well as anything that's going on (do they try to get out the door, are they hard to find in the house, if more than 1 cat is present, are there any issues between the cats). I also like to know how often they want updates (or do they only want to hear from me if there's a problem).

It went fine, my cats are timid. However, they came out to see her from a few feet away even on the before visit. A couple of them even played with her a little. She is kind and very good at her job.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Ventura cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
