What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been a cat lover and caregiver since childhood—always the one rescuing abandoned kittens and helping neighbors with their feline companions. Over the years, I’ve provided care for cats of all ages and temperaments, from playful kittens to shy seniors needing medication or extra comfort. I’ve been cat sitting informally for friends, family, and neighbors for over 20 years, and more formally in recent years. My intuitive bond with cats helps me quickly gain their trust, making each visit stress-free and loving.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most is building trust and bonding with each cat’s unique personality—I truly fall in love every time.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

They are all my favorite. The cats are excited when they see me, I pet and brush and talk to them. I play with them making my heart melt.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have two beloved cats: Gunner, a 6-year-old Siberian Forest Cat, and Bella, a 1-year-old Bicolor Blue Ragdoll. I previously had two cherished companions—Kiki, a Siamese who lived 16.5 years, and Priska, a Norwegian Forest Cat who both sadly passed from cancer in July 2024.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I’d advise asking about their experience with cats—have they owned one? Listen for thoughtful, cat-savvy language that shows true understanding.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I create a pet profile, ask about health, routine, meds, allergies, treats, feeding, litter habits, and home care instructions.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I ensure cat safety by anticipating their behavior before entering, preventing escapes by securely closing doors and screens, and doing headcounts. I double-check that windows and doors are shut and locked when I arrive and before leaving to maintain home security and keep cats safely indoors.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I’m available most holidays; however, I travel during Thanksgiving weekend and will be in Colorado from December 20th to 28th.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love engaging cats with a wand toy featuring a hanging fish or bird, crinkly cat balls, and catnip-stuffed toys.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I speak softly, give space, approach slowly with pheromones, play gently, and gain trust—eventually brushing and bonding with cats .
