What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been caring for cats for most of my life, both my own and for friends and family! I’ve actually never been without a cat or two my entire life!Over the years I’ve managed feeding routines, litter maintenance, administering basic medications, monitoring recovery from minor injuries, and adjusting care for kittens to seniors. I’m comfortable reading feline body language and recognizing subtle changes in appetite, grooming habits, or behavior that might signal something is off. My experience is rooted in daily, hands-on care rather than just occasional interaction. :)

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love the quiet moments. The slow blinks, the cautious sniff, the first time they choose to sit near you. There’s something really special about being trusted by an animal that doesn’t give it automatically. I also really enjoy making sure they get proper enrichment so they’re mentally stimulated and not just “fed and left.” Playtime, conversation, brushing, and routine make a big difference in their mood. :)

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I once cared for two sibling kitties, Mike and Molly. They were both giant kitties with completely opposite personalities, one outgoing and playful, the other, slightly chubbier, reserved, and observant. It taught me how important it is to tailor care individually even within the same home. Molly needed high-energy feather wand play sessions, while Mikey preferred quiet brushing and sitting nearby, but definitely enjoyed a good head scratch. Seeing both of them relaxed and content by the end of the stay was incredibly rewarding, and was a great reminder that every kitty has their own special quirks and it’s one of my favorite hobbies to learn about them all!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My oldest is Marli, an almost 11-year-old fluffy Maine Coon. I’ve had her since she was a tiny kitten and even helped nurse her and teach her the litter box when she was little. She’s very gentle, timid, and incredibly affectionate with me. Every night she curls up on me and makes biscuits and suckles the blankie, which has been our routine for years. Then there’s Boots, my 9-year-old chunky tabby, brown and white boy who absolutely loves food and playing fetch. He’s very talkative and will even chatter back at you if you sneeze. He’s a goofy, sweet cat with a lot of personality. My youngest cat is Milo (Meelo), a 4-year-old silky medium-haired tabby with darker leopard-like stripes. He’s extremely vocal and cuddly, and we “talk” to each other all day. I raised him from a kitten alongside my daughter, so he’s very people-oriented.
